Old news Fish & his click bait titles lol. You know Jerry already made up his mind w/Tyler. Why pay a FA big money when he has a young buck ready to take over?!
The young buck is not ready to take over is the problem.

His base rate is only 1 million this year so base rate for the next 2 years is only 19.5 million total.

That's way cheaper than Amari (Amaris cash payout in that same timeframe is double)
Not only that his base-rate this year is only 1 million so it's basically 2 years 19.5 million for whatever team that gets him if he did hypothetically get moved

Yes this year is a bargain but next year it’s 18 mill what was Cooper 20 ? So next yr your saying for a tackle who will be closing on on 30 yrs old your hit in 23 is going yo be 18 mill . I would rather not and draft a pure tackle in the 23 draft and have him on a rookie contract for 4 yrs and tram with Tyler Smith Martin Steele Ball Waletzco Farniok Biadaz rebuild have a young solid line ( except Martin the vet )

Yeah I’m not with it. Witten too like you said. All Witten did was stop the progress of guys behind him. And as far as being a leader he’d sit there on the sidelines during a beat down as calm and cool as anyone.

Martin the same. If you see your team is down bad and you can essentially see play any position on the line…..why not at least offer to help?
The two-time Pro Bowl selection said Wednesday he doesn't expect a heated, cutthroat competition, telling reporters:

"My style, I've never really been a rah-rah guy at all. I just kind of like to lead by example, and if people have questions, I will answer them. I'm an open book. I don't try to hoard information. I don't like doing the whole Jason Witten deal where it's me versus everyone else in the tight end room.

Don't forget this. Said he was joking but I don't buy it. He heard something

The FO saying they're happy with who they already have may be a ploy to help generate leverage. The Jags are deep with the OT position so a trade may actually help them. Who knows... I guess we all will very soon

They would turn the 2023 base rate into a signed bonus and factor it into this year (so it would be like a 9.5 million cap hit this year and 10 million next). A really good swing tackle is going to cost that much anyways so money clearly isn't the issue (you'd also get that entire 2nd year salary paid for by moving on from Tyron)

You could still do those things even with Tunsil on a 2 or 3 year deal. I don't expect Waletzco or Smith to play pure tackle by themselves till at least 2024 so a 2 or 3 year rental will immediately improve the team now and won't force you to draft or play someone if there not ready (especially since next years draft class isn't looking that great for tackle)

Baptism by fire....will be good and bad but you hope he ends up playing better faster bc of the pressure to mature fast

I wouldn't recommend drafting a guy in round 1 that you do not think is a plug and play guy but that is what they did. Now they gotta live with it. They drafted 2 guys to be swing or backup tackles and thats how they probably roll unless a cheap veteran is available.

But they need to grab a guard too. Start with McGovern and if he doesn't step up insert the veteran when ready.

I understand he was, but I don't see him being ready at this point.
We don't need to get his confidence crushed,
Or see Dak get crushed while he's learning on the job.

I agree. But then again I wouldn't draft an OT in round 1 if I didn't think he could play OT right away. What we would do abd what this clown show does ain't the same. Unless he is Chaz green bad I don't see much better out there. Might as well start developing the futer LT. I thought he should have played friday at LT to see how he does. That might have answered some questions.

Yes! Chaz Green is what I have been thinking.
Dak still had PTSD from that Falcons game.

I get what your saying on the Tunsil payout instead of an 18 mill hit break it down into 2 yrs at 9.5 each . That makes more sense . I just hate parting with a 1 unless Tunsil would be the key to helping Dallas go much further say an NFC championship game .

Most of this season is restructure so for us it would be about a million this year. You don’t even have to restructure next years 18 mil if you move on from Tyron that creates 13 mil of the 18 mil with no dead money the next year

That’s a good point take Tyron $ to pay Tunsil . As many injuries 77 has had and as serious as this one is it’s absurd to even think of a return ….ever .

Fish is going to link us to every OT in the league. Then if one hits he can claim another “exclusive”
That’s Fish
Throw enough against the wall and you eventually be right, then ignore the million times you are wrong lol
