Yes, Jason Peters is 40 years old. But, so is Andrew Whitworth. Just a week ago fans wanted Dallas to take a shot at getting him out of retirement. The fact that he even mentioned Tyron Smith had fans wondering if Dallas contacted him.

Both played last season and were solid players. Both are SB champions. But, I'd argue that Peters had the better career.

I'm not upset with Dallas bringing Peters in. He's better than all the Tackles on the roster.

This is a moronic tweet.

You don't ask a future hall of famer to go on the PS. You give him a year-long deal and guarantee some of it. Just having him present and mentoring Smith would be huge.

Dude actually talks to his OL in more than just grunts.
Agree with this sentiment.

This is one of those times where you’d be insulting the guy by lowballing him or even mentioning the, and this is a 40-year-old who’s done it all and doesn’t even NEED to play this year.

On top of that, he’s an Eagles legend and the idea of playing for the Cowboys might feel a tad gross to the guy anyways. DeMarco Murray couldn’t hide the sour taste in his mouth when he was at his Eagles introductory presser.

The point is, this feels like one of those times where Stephen can’t screw around with the player or agent - as long as the number is within reason, get it done.

Really needed to sign a swing tackle this off season.
But who could have seen Tyrone's injury coming?

LOL -- It's crazy! His injuries have been a constant thing for years now, yet it's routinely ignored. He's hell on wheels when he's healthy, but it never lasts long enough to rely on. He's always a trooper, through it all, though. We don't worry about crap, 'til we step in it. o_O

Let’s go! Exactly what we need. Can play both T spots and for a year or so can be a good starter.

I love that lineman can play into their 40’s cause the best of them hone in technique and the strength pretty much stays with age, mobility is the only concern.

JP is probably about 80% of what Tyron was last year. If he stays at that level, he’s a quality starter on either side. Hopefully he’s signed in time to be able to go against Tampa.

The thing that sucks about the timing here is we are probably too close to the season for him to jump right into the starting lineup. So what do you do, play Smith at LT for 2 games then back to LG? Even then does Smith replace McGovern if he’s playing well? The timing makes this thing much more complicated.
He can play guard as well btw.

Peters and Tyler on the left side would be nasty. These are the punch you in the mouth and grind you down type. Left side becomes a plus and offensive line can suddenly run the ball
