Why should I stay a Cowboys fan?

I plan to stay a Cowboys fan as long as I can stomach it. For the longest time, I've been a diehard Cowboys fan. However, I just have to ask. Why should I stay a Cowboys fan? This is the first time I can remember truly questioning it. However, the statements Jerry made about essentially wanting us to be talked about being more important than winning guts me as a young fan. I started watching this franchise in about 2000. I gobbled up everything Cowboys, and I still always want to stay on this board. That said, what's the point of cheering on a team when the owner cares more about the Forbes Bowl than winning the Super Bowl? It's clear now why he makes the moves he makes. It's clear to me now why he won't do what it takes to win, such as a proper GM, better coaching, and why it's always one side of the ball that's atrocious and one side that's not.

I'm writing this thread to ask for help. Help me to understand why I should stay a fan. I plan to do so just because I don't have another team I'd support, and I enjoy this board. Overall, I still very much enjoy the Cowboys, and I like our players. However, Jerry's statements felt like a slap to the face when I've taken every insult from other fans. I spurned the Eagles, whom most of my family supports. I spurned the Broncos when my favourite animal is clearly a horse. I spurned the Texans when they started to stay a Cowboys supporter. I've happily taken the insults. And for what? A team who is run by an owner who couldn't care less about winning?

Again, I'm NOT quitting the Cowboys. I'm more venting my anger with what Jerry stated and asking for help on why I should carry on as I plan to do so as a Cowboys fan.

Also, for those who say "You're a quitter", I've been one of the most positive fans on this board. I've always tried to stay positive no matter what. I'm still trying to stick to the Cowboys. Also, how would you respond to Jerry's comments if you were in my shoes having never seen us get to the NFC Championship game?

Apparently, you shouldn’t.

That's what Jerry's comments feel like. I still plan to, and I very much like our players. However, according to Jerry, nothing matters with this team as long as his wallet is getting fuller and fuller. At least with Bournemouth, they have the excuse of being a tiny club and they try. Jerry doesn't.

If your questioning why, then I think you should go. Find you an NFL team that doesn’t want to make money.

Once you find that… maybe you’ll be happy. I wish you well.

I've only started questioning it as stated, and I still like, overall the players and all. I also very much enjoy the board and all. I'm just flabbergasted that Jerry stated what he said, and it feels like a slap to the face.

So an NFL owner that doesn’t want to make money, and a Horse mascot is what it will take to make you happy?

Well, it'd help haha. My fursona is a horse after all. I haven't got a problem with him wanting to make money. However, the way I read his comments sounded to me like he put that over winning a championship. That to me was a massive insult.

Us getting a horse mascot would help.

There you go. Rowdy needs a great big furry horse mascot. Rowdy can come out riding in a wagon pulled by his Rusty horse. You can neigh and drop Rusty horse apples out of the costume as you run around the sidelines after every Cowboys score.

Seriously, we need to hook you two up. AND renew your interest in the club at the same time.

I've known you before you went to college. You're a very smart young man. And a Christian too. That said, you'll continue being a Cowboys fan because it's in the blood. Hang in there, you'll be around to see Jerry gone.

Jerry has been insulting us for awhile now. He is the biggest issue with the cowboys hands down

Well, and Stephen who won't spend anything. I liked when Jerry would make FA splashes. Just once or twice a year. At that time, I felt at least the Cowboys were trying. I like our drafts. I want the FO to at least try for a big FA or two as well as improve in the draft. At least then, it feels like they're trying. The Peters move was a good one, and I'm just asking for a bit more than that. That's not too much to ask, is it?
