Dak should request a trade

Well theres you problem, Dak isn't a very good QB. Very Good QBs dont need All-Pro's at the other 10 positions on the field to succeed, Dak does

Aaron Rodgers had a pretty crap game too yesterday. Why? Because he hasn't got weapons either. Dak's not in the same league as Rodgers, and I know that. However, Rodgers sucked yesterday against the Vikings.

I like Dak. However, if he wants to preserve his career, he really should consider asking for a trade. Jerry couldn't care less about losing. All Jerry cares about is being talked about and collecting money. That's all Jerry wants. If we win, brilliant, but he's got a never ending money machine. So, Dak should realise this and go to a team actually cares.

Really, agree with the Jerry mentality and business decisions. But Dak has gone down hill since his rookie year. Maybe just maybe, if the season is lost… the Cowboys could be in the Bryce Young sweepstakes. And finally dump Dak. Prescott can’t handle pressure. Collingsworth worth stated last night DAK is the 4th worst QB when pressured….

I think Jerry did fail him. He gave him literally nothing to work with and very little protection. What did we expect would happen? He had no blocking at the LG side. That's as obvious, as was the lack of WR.
That's what happens when the starting guard gets hurt.

Rodgers is also 38 years old but I'd live if the trade request involved swapping the two QBs

Dak was terrible last night. That was the worst opening day performance by a QB1 in Dallas that I can remember. He was overpaid by a clueless owner. He's not an elite QB. As I've been saying for years on this board, he fluffs the stats against bad teams and in garbage time. The real Dak comes out in games like this on national TV against good teams.

And make no mistake, the only person I criticize more than Dak is Jerry. He and Stephen are buffoons in the world of football. They have no idea how to build a team. Dak is only the fruit of their ineptitude.

I mean I am not going to stress about one bad game. That was not even the worst week 1 performance by a QB in the 40m club this week (Stafford). Burrow will be joining that club after this year and he played the worst game of any QB this week. If you want an elite performance for all 17 games you are not going to find a QB in the NFL who can do that. They simply do not exist.

Edit: I also forgot about Jackson and Rodgers also having terrible games. Basically it was a bad week for top QB play this week in general.

Dak is crap and we've known it for 3 years. Jerry loves to get those Romo types to tell himself he knows how to beat the NFL. Fat Mike and Moore
have dramatically brought this team to its knees and should be dismissed today.

I think Dak is a very good QB. What he needs is weapons, and we don't have much there. If he had a reliable WR, then he might've had a better night. Unfortunately, our WRs dropped a lot of passes.
Dakota is not a very good QB. It’s unfathomable that some people can’t take their homerism glasses off.

I really hate to say this. I really do. However, Jerry deserves this, and, if Dak wants to salvage his career, I think he needs to go to a team whose owner actually cares about winning. He's not got weapons here. His contract, compared to other QBs really isn't all that bad, and there are teams who'd likely snap him up quickly. If he doesn't want to end up like Romo, he needs to really consider waiving his trade clause and going to a team like Seattle, who need a QB and would probably give us a king's ransom to get Dak. I'm NOT blaming Dak for yesterday. The loss is on Jerry, and, unfortunately, Jerry doesn't care. So, Dak should go to a team who does care and can build a roster.
So ignoring all else that is wrong in this post I'll just ask why you think if he wanted a championship that Dak would be better off going to Seattle which is not a good team right now and then also have Seattle give a king's ransom up to get him? So a bad team would give away all of their picks and their cap space which would limit their ability to bring in players in both the draft and free agency and that would give him a better chance to win?

Dak has a under average arm and inconsistent accuracy.
There's a reason he wasn't drafted.

I'd take that deal too, obviously. However, that doesn't answer the point. Rodgers played horribly too yesterday. Absolutely poorly, and the Vikings aren't anywhere near as good as the Bucs.

They do have some better WRs than we have and a lot of first round picks. So, I think they'll be able to get him more weapons.

Dak's contract is structured as such that he could not be traded/released until after the 2023 season ($39M dead money at that point compared to $52M cap hit) so not sure why create this thread. That said, do you really think Dallas would get much in return for Dak after last night and the past few years with now injury concerns popping up?

A smart team would be eying a QB in next years draft since we will probably have a top 10 pick. But we are not a smart team and our owner doesn't admit mistakes or even look for them. So, Dak is our QB and I'm 99% sure that top 10 pick will be an OT or WR.

Exactly, and it happens. Dak's not a below-tier QB as some have said. I think he's top 10-15. We can win with that, but Jerry didn't do nearly enough to help. And don't give me the contract argument as Dak's contract isn't terrible compared to other QBs. Also, it shouldn't be that difficult to get more WR weapons, especially when DJax and OBJ were available.

Well, we do have a huge need on the oline and WR. I agree that we need to get another QB in, and that's mainly because Jerry is doing to Dak exactly what he did to Romo.
