You can't use QBR when it suits.... he was awful
he was awful... I never said it wasn't..

again, you are singularly focused. I focus on entire team. you have an agenda to drive. you have emotional satisfaction you want to get. I get it. I am not faulting you for your view. I just don't think it was a single person's fault. you obviously do. have at it. why are you seeking my approval?

What part of Daks performance yesterday impressed you the most?
Honestly I have no agenda
Maybe I missed something??
I watched 50 minutes of a completely subpar QB
Making bad reads & consistently throwing behind receivers
nDak's performance was bad.

and the OL had issues. they were bad. or do you think having 4 penalties on a single drive, killing and over turning first downs are ok?

and the defense giving up 152 yards rushing didn't impress me. Bucs had a very simple game plan, they knew they could run the ball, control the clock and not have to make many chances. Brady threw the ball 27 times. they ran the ball 30 times. even without the last series or two, they ran the ball 25 times. they made it a short game.

and our game plan didn't impress me. we ran the ball 18 times...and that was when we were within a score or 10 points...and then we just went pass happy trying to catch up. well, a little too late.

and Dak is what he is. I am not sure on the insistance from everyone to just pile it on, except for wanting some type of emotional satisfaction.

tell me if you were happy with OL, OC, run defense?

the fact Dak really doesn't have weapons.
To be fair a combination of Shultz, Lamb, Pollard, and Zeke would at very worst put the cowboys around league average in terms of weapons and with Gallup back they would be above average.

I'm not buying this recent narrative of "Dak is basically playing with Junior high talent, he has absolutely no help or weapons"

So nothing from Dak impressed you yesterday?

I really hate to say this. I really do. However, Jerry deserves this, and, if Dak wants to salvage his career, I think he needs to go to a team whose owner actually cares about winning. He's not got weapons here. His contract, compared to other QBs really isn't all that bad, and there are teams who'd likely snap him up quickly. If he doesn't want to end up like Romo, he needs to really consider waiving his trade clause and going to a team like Seattle, who need a QB and would probably give us a king's ransom to get Dak. I'm NOT blaming Dak for yesterday. The loss is on Jerry, and, unfortunately, Jerry doesn't care. So, Dak should go to a team who does care and can build a roster.
Dak makes more money then a 3rd world country playing for the Cowboys. He would never volunteer to leave this gravy train.

Micah was good
Tyler Smith performed better than my expectations
Michah was good. no doubt.

performed better than expectations? how low was the bar set? perhaps I could jump over that bar.

Houston performed better than expectations. he had 2 receptions.
Fehoko played better than expectations. he had 2 receptions.

exectations doesn't mean they were any good.

Dak was terrible last night. That was the worst opening day performance by a QB1 in Dallas that I can remember. He was overpaid by a clueless owner. He's not an elite QB. As I've been saying for years on this board, he fluffs the stats against bad teams and in garbage time. The real Dak comes out in games like this on national TV against good teams.

And make no mistake, the only person I criticize more than Dak is Jerry. He and Stephen are buffoons in the world of football. They have no idea how to build a team. Dak is only the fruit of their ineptitude.

Dak's performance was reminiscent of Quincy Carter's 2001 performance in the opener against the Bucs.

It was on par with that.

Go check my first post, I acknowledge other contributory factors, but the Jones' arent changing and our CAP (which isnt dreadful moving forward) still isnt going to allow for big Free Agents (or trades for veterans with large contracts). The agenda, if you want to call it that is that Dak, going into the 'expensive Cap years', isnt showing anything to convince many of us that he can lead an Offense containing so many rookie contracts and lesser receivers.

I would seriously consider trying to trade CeeDee as his worth is being wasted by Dak's inability to put the ball in front of him to run onto...... i'd even hazard a guess that Dak connects best with a stationary target or a curl comeback.

The team is run by men who don't look for problems let alone address them until it blows up their face. Any sober fan could see in March that WR and OL were going to be a problem this year if not addressed. Last nights performance was actually pretty predictable.

Some of us even saw the backup QB issue.

Well theres you problem, Dak isn't a very good QB. Very Good QBs dont need All-Pro's at the other 10 positions on the field to succeed, Dak does
....but you don't need marginal talent in many of those positions, as well.......nor a Pop Warner OC.

You are absolutely right about the oline. And I don’t think Kellen Moore helps him either. I think there are a fair amount of times after the snap that Dak is looking at nothing but covered receivers because KM is so predictable and unimaginative.

Which is a large part of the premise of my OP. Dak's OCs have been Linehan and Moore with Garrett for 4 years as the HC. He's had horrific coaching here. I think he really should try to get traded so he can go where an OC with common sense can work out how to create an offense that helps Dak. We know Jerry's not ditching Moore. We saw that with Garrett. So, Dak needs to find a new team to be traded to so that he can show what he can actually do.

No one is taking on that contract, he has clearly regressed. His pocket presence was terrible last night, he struggles to read zone defenses and is not accurate.
