The cowboys won't be able to field a team then. We've seen the same dance for 25 years, so it's much deeper than the talent on field or even the coaching. Simply trying to 'be tough' on the guys won't do anything because teams will gladly pluck our talent from us.

Remember how Demarcus Ware was washed up before he teamed up with Von Miller in Denver and won a superbowl? Martellus Bennett was a problem child before he ended up winning a superbowl with the patriots. The dysfunction starts in the FO and any changes you make won't get you results beyond the 2nd round of the playoffs until that initial problem is fixed.
The Cowboys need to take some risks. I would keep my eye on the Ravens situation.

If you watch Jerry on First Take. (the day everyone got the Tyron Smith news mind you) he literally makes the motion with his hands rubbing his fingers together in the "making money" gesture.

You know what they were discussing?

The fans.

Jerry looks at us like we are an ATM. Not a fanbase. This man and his family DO NOT CARE if we are happy, if we lose, if we win, as long as we are being spoken about (which he also said last week).

This FO set up Dak, the entire coaching staff (if you can call it that) to fail. A non existent FA, a lackluster draft, and a complete refusal to do anything of note to shore up an OL and WR corps that lost 3 starting players. I've been saying this for months and no one wanted to listen.

This is the same Jerry that built a football stadium facing east west. Now that wouldn't normally be a problem except for the MASSIVE windows on either side. This man does not care about winning. It is now a marketing machine and his personal fantasy football team.

You can blame Dak, you can blame Moore, you can blame Tom, Dick, or Harry. The real reason this team hasn't competed is because of Jerry and his family pretending to be football people when they aren't.

This FO has wasted the careers of some really great players that deserved better. I really wish the next time the Cowboys have a top pick players start saying things like "i dont really want to go to Dallas, I want to play football and have a chance at a Lombardi." Maybe then Jerry will wake up. Until then. He believes the Cowboys are still the pinnacle of sports.

Guys like Jason Witten, Demarcus Ware, and countless others were wasted because Jerry refused to build a winner while pretending to know what he was doing.

Until this team hires a HC and GM team and backs off of day to day operations. Nothing will change.

Yes, a lot of money was spent by other teams.

Cincy spent 180 mill on their offensive line and Burrow got sacked 7 times. Cowboys spent nearly none and had two guys on their line who never started games in the NFL and only gave up 4.

There is somewhere in the middle that the Cowboys could be, they just choose to go all in on young players.

I agree with pretty much everything said, especially the part about the window closing last year. You can’t lose what was lost on offense and expect similar results. Most might disagree with this next statement but I agree with letting Cooper, Collins and Gregory go. Think with first two, there were a lot of trust issues and with Gregory that’s a lot of money considering his past. The problem is they did nothing to replace that amount of talent that just left the building. I have a feeling they are using this year to get there cap in order for the future and where hoping for a season like 2014 or 2016 when they had multiple players emerge. That isn’t going to happen because the talent level on offense is minimal at best.

If I had more trust in the Jones I don’t think if would be that hard to turn around this team. With the expected release of a lot of high priced veterans, there is a lot of cap room going into the next couple of off seasons. If the season goes the way I expect, we probably are looking at a incredible high draft pick. In addition, we do have a lot of young talent, especially on the defensive side of the ball. It not hard for the window to reopen if you have the QB position locked up (some don’t think so but record, stats, and most NFL minds say otherwise.

But again, I have no faith because we have the Jones making these decisions, with frugal Stephen having more power and always thinking he is the smartest person in room.

I think the only area they really failed was grabbing a vet WR, especially after Washington went down.

Other than that, i think they are in good shape.

Good shape?

They allowed over 100 rushing yards. Again. The OL is in shambles. AGAIN.

You are absolutely out of your mind.

Someone made a post recently that Jerry raised the ticket prices by 20%. This after doing nothing to improve the roster and only shedding talent and creating more holes. They also sat on 22 million of cap space. No one is buying their BS anymore.
As far as the cap space, if they are trying to roll that over to extend Diggs and Parsons, I'll lay off. But if they nickel and dime those guys especially Parsons then I cant defend saving that money.

It was 1 game.

Not sure if you are aware or not, but we had two injuries on the OL.

...the sad part in all this. THe players think they can go far. Management has other ideas.

If Dallas falls 0-2, the train wreck will really start. Im talking locker room bash.

I am so happy that someone in the media actually said this. I have been saying this for years, and as a matter of fact will pull out all the times I created a thread about this.
JERRY does not care about trying to win a Super Bowl. He doesn't and as soo as fans face reality the better it will be.
There is nothing stopping the Cowboys from competing other than Jerry. They have most cashflow and profit of any team in the league. They can sign whoever they want, the salary cap can be managed for years, just look at the Saints and Rams. There is no salary cap on hiring front office folks or a HC or an analytics team.
Jerry just doesn't care about winning a SB.
Please don't respond back by saying he does because his actions over the past 27 years like.

If someone's actions plainly tells you who they are just believe them. There is no shame here. He has 3 rings, he is a HOF'r, owns the most valuable brand in all of sports (world included).
He just wants the team to be in the spotlight and be in the news cycle. Competing for a SB is item 10 on his checklist when the offseason starts.
Signing Dak, Tak, Zeke, Romo, Tyron Smith, you name the player who got paid it doesnt even matter. Every year some player is going to get paid that is the nature of this league, even the Bengals were paying players and giving out contracts before Joe Burrow.

Jerry's goal is go between 7 and 10 wins, he wants the team to be relevant .... That is the key word. Relevant. He wants them to be talked about.
All of us rabid fans don't matter, we may be upset over a loss buy Jerry never is.
He bought this team for under 140 million now its worth 8 billion plus. Do the math, that is just franchise value, that is not counting cash flow and profit.

I am aware.

That front office you keep defending is the reason this team cant handle injuries. They had an offseason based on hope that Tyron would stay healthy for 17 games.

How did that work out?

Get a clue my friend. This FO that you defend doesnt care about you at all.

Get a clue huh?

Did you not watch the 1st round tackle play? Looks like we will be just fine there.

You probably complained about that pick too. Just face it, you want to whine and complain because it makes you feel smart.
