I have a feeling this stubborn cap mentality that Stephen Jones has, isn't going to change no matter who the coach or the QB of the Cowboys is. He'll still try to convince Cowboys fans that his way of roster building is the right way, no matter how many times it fails to get this team back to the Super Bowl or even the Conference Championship game.

And we also know that all Jerry cares about is having the media talk about the Cowboys, which is what he uses to comfort himself when the Cowboys get eliminated from the playoffs, but still somehow is in the media conversation while the playoffs are still going on.

As an example.....none of you should confuse me not being an NBA stud with the fact that I'm not good enough to do that.

Because I truly WANT to be.

Food for thought.

Their bellies are too on self praise to get asked any questions about their failures.

Haha yeah The Jones Boys need their own YouTube channel or Twitch Stream daily show with how much crap they spew. Hey It would bring in more moolah for them. I'd love to see them have to deal with the live chat and comments lol.

Listening to 105.3 on my way home from work and Stephen Jones is on.

The host asked him to say what he thinks about fans who feel he is not interested in building a winning team as much as he is about making money. Stephen went on a 2 to 3 minute rant about how he manipulates the salary cap and tries to spend every dollar.

Dude never answered the question - for whatever reason he totally ignored it and went on a rant about the cap instead.

There you have it folks, if that isn't proof enough where Jerry and Stephen's priorities lie, I don't know what else to tell you. Stephen didn't have to admit it, but by totally avoiding answering the question that's exactly what he is doing.

To hell with them.
I would love for one of those guys ask how SJ felt about how the QB was booed off the field

Whats funny is Stephen also told the host that every dollar afforded to the cap has been spent, which I think is a lie. Don't they have about 20 million in space right now that isn't being used?

It rolls over to the next year, so technically gets spent eventually.

I hope Carl-lotte comes out soon with more information about how the jones have set the trap and the fans fell for it.

Jones bought some trophies in the '90s
Now they never have to even try to win ever again.
Jerry tried for a few years and realized he couldn't do it.
Now we just sell the stadium out to move venues to make up for the fans crying.

Jerry, "Stephen get the rodeo on the horn, we need some more money. The fans ain't buying the stupid jersey right now"
Stephen, "okay dad, do you want me to get some old washed-up singer too for the next week too?"
Jerry, "sounds good Buckhead, get it done, and don't let jerry pinhead jr in on it"

Spend every dollar?

The host should have called him out on that comment.

Ehhhhhh............... maybe. Maybe not.

But you are correct that they do need the rollover for next year as they have cap constraints in 2023. They'll need to trim some players too that have bloated contracts........... cough, cough Zeke.

I understand what you are saying, but there are better ways to answer this without ignoring it.

"I understand the fans frustration, but our priority as General Manager and President is to build the best possible roster capable of competing at the highest level. We have always been committed to winning and will continue to do so".

Totally ignoring the question leads to posts like this and more anger from the fans when it could easily be avoided.

And yes, I was also shocked when I heard the question. 105.3 is the flagship radio station here in DFW, and the hosts know to avoid questions like this because Jerry has a short fuse and won't hesitate to rip up their contract. Was it a fan question? I don't know, I probably started listening half way through the interview.
That is definitely a professional CSR answer.

Let them loose the first 4 games and fans start showing up at Jerryworld with bags over their faces and I think both Jerry and Stephen will figure it out. Course if that happens Mike will be canned and be the sacrificial lamb.
