Does Dak get his job back if Rush goes 6-2 by the bye?

Romo lost his job to a hot Prescott.

Does the same happen to Prescott ???

If we are 6-2 by the bye, then Prescott has the rest of the year to recover.

I'm just sayin' ...
Remember when Rob Johnson was the QB under Wade Phillips for Buffalo but got injured and Flutie went on a tear and won a string of games to make the playoffs. Wade put Johnson back in for the first playoff game and they lost. He said later he never should have given the job back to Johnson and gone with the hot hand... Flutie.

Rush won't get a chancento go 6-2 my friend and I'm certain the 40mil QB here WILL get his job back lol. Dak will be back in a few weeks rather he's ready or not.

Man oh man, imagine the noise in Dallas if Cooper goes on to win a few games and Dak returns to look like week 1 Dak.

Rush was very good and clutch. But I counted atleast 3 dropped INT's that would have been a different media week. But I know with more snaps he will shake that off. I really don't see Moore setting him up to succeed here. Moore pretty much shut him down the 2nd half, I really wonder are we trying to win here or see Garrett sabotage Wade 2.0????????

Wasn;t Romo on a big contract too....at the time?

If we are on a streak...we need to use the same high tech very professional rationale for a multi billions global entity....., and I quote...don't mess with superstition!
Great point Steve!
And I don't disagree with you.
Just saying what my gut tells me Jerry will do.

They were 16 seconds away from beating the Titans and then the Music City Miracle happened. Wade's track record suggests he had more than one issue as a HC.

As for the hot hand, the Bills went 10-5 under Flutie before Johnson's return. To this day I'm seeing posters here (not necessarily you) claiming Garrett made a mistake going with the hot hand (Dallas was 13-3 under Dak) rather than giving the job back to Romo. It seems the argument varies depending on the outcome.

It doesn't appear Dak is going to be out until the bye, and I don't think sticking with Rush is even an option to the Jones boys. But if Rush wins a few games there will be pressure, from at least a portion of the fan base, on Dak to perform. Jerry and Stephen will feel the heat as well.

I don't think he'll miss 7 or 8 games. He says he already has feeling back in his thumb area.
But if Rush is playing well, I don't see MM trying to fix something that ain't broke.

Lol. Really. What if Dak don’t come back till game 11.. And we are 10-1. I bet Dak still gets his job back..

No way a broken thumb keeps Dak out 10 weeks. They didn't even have to put rods in.. which would have elongated the recovery. The rods have to come out in 10-14 days then you need another 10-14 days to heal up from that while the bone simultaneously heals up. Six weeks for the bone to heal then two weeks to PT it back to full health would be the absolute worst case scenario. A young healthy dude getting all the best treatment and nutrition cuts that in half.. Four weeks .. book it. But if Rush is 10-1 and killin it you stay with the hot hand.. However before you go into the playoffs with your 40 million dollar man as the backup you give him a couple of games to show you if he is a) better than Rush or b) completely washed. That was the mistake they made in the Dak/Romo scenario. They never gave themselves a chance to see if Romo could get back to his pre-injury level and as such provide the best chance for that team in the playoffs. As good as Dak was that year, if Romo was better and could prove it, I would have wanted him in the playoffs. Period.

It doesn't matter if he goes 7-1. Dak is getting his job back. Jerry is paying Dak too much money to be a back up. The hype is built around Dak.

They've actually said that Dak can return once he can grip a football. Dak said that there wasn't much swelling and it has subsided. They are taking the stitches out this week and Dak is claiming he thinks he's back inside of 4 weeks much like Jerry relayed to us a several days ago.

The chances of us being 6-2 with Rush and this receiving corps is extremely low. He has far too many limitations to elevate the offense to the point that we're consistently scoring enough to do that. IF it happens, it means our defense is one of the 2 or 3 best in football and we're consistently holding most teams to less than 20 points. Which admittedly is certainly within the realm of possibility, they've looked stout against 2 good offenses thus far.

But regardless, of course not. Dak is better than Cooper Rush in every conceivable way. Arm strength, accuracy, experience, mobility, knowledge of the offense, etc. Prescott is a top 10 QB, Cooper Rush is a run of the mill NFL backup QB. The fact that this thread exists is only an indictment of our fanbase.

As a physician, there is zero chance the type of injury/surgery Dak had keeps him out even 6 weeks let alone 10. He had no hardware placed, his stiches are coming out this week per his own account, and the type of injury he sustained is "all or nothing" in terms of grip. After surgery the only thing limiting his ability to grip the ball is post-op pain and swelling, which is generally gone in a few weeks. If you loaded him up on narcotics he could grip a ball just as tightly today as he could before the Tampa game. It would just be too painful for him to grip the ball well for a full game right now. But for one throw he could probably do everything at this moment he always could if he had to from a pure mechanical standpoint.

NFL is still a numbers game, a 100 mill QB or any player, will never be on the bench regardless

Jerry Jones was not exaggerating when he predicted Dak Prescott's speedy return from thumb surgery. Days after the Cowboys owner suggested the team's star quarterback could be back on the field sooner rather than later, CEO Stephen Jones has confirmed as much. Ahead of Dallas' Sunday matchup with the Bengals, the latter told 105.3 The Fan that Prescott may return to the lineup as early as Week 3 against the Giants, as ProFootballTalk reported.

"He's got a chance, maybe the third or fourth game," Jones said of Prescott's recovery, per PFT. "We'll see what happens."

Romo should've gotten his job back!!!! You do not loose your job to an injury. Unless you are a loser and Romo was a winner. I think it was short sighted on the management I trully believe we would've beat Aaron and the Packers with Tony

playing. And Dak could've gotten two more years learning from the bench. But that 's just me. Coop's a feel good story and I wish him all the success in the world. But come on !!!!!

You can't be serious even if he goes 7-1. Nice problem to have though!!!!
The ceiling was way higher with Romo.
They only looked at the risk
