Jabril Cox could have contributed

My gosh I would take Gifford over LVE at this point.

Interestingly enough Brad Sham on the Fan was very impressed with LVE's play yesterday. I think the quote was "I thought he was going to make every tackle".

I tend to agree with you. I see LVE getting washed out of most plays or filling the wrong hole.

LVE was the 2nd leading tackler in the game.

I wish they would have put Jabril Cox in on the last drive, when it was clearly a pass, pass, pass situation. He needs to see the field more.
LVE has a role, and it is certainly good to rest him during garbage time. However, put in #14!!!
You love Cox.

Lve is lining the guys up. Cox can’t do that yet. It would be. A huge drop off.
Maybe he just isnt very good
Yall cry too much. Cox will get his chance
I also saw him point to where the ball was going before it was even snapped. He may not be as athletic as some want, but he is a very smart football player.
If Cox was an upgrade he would be in there. We need LVE to play the run, he's doing just fine
In his position he is in on every play close the line. Run plays and such. You need to go back and watch film before you or anyone can say he is slow to the play. I was watching and seeing plays happen and wondering could someone else do it better. How is he diagnosing and reacting to plays.. We shall see..,.
It appears there are two close relatives of Jabril Cox here at Cowboys Zone ---

LVE does a good job running the defense but the guy does not make plays and always gets run over. I keyed on him a few times yesterday and all I have to say is it's a good thing the Cowboys have really good D-lineman that can stuff the run because he was getting mauled on some run plays.
It is so obvious it is embarrassing and painful to watch. Just hoping for wolfboy to show me wrong and make a play. His modus operandi to protect his neck is to sit back and never take the lead or shoot the gap or direct low hit on running back like other linebackers in the league. He is clearly in a full out protection mode and you cannot play like that and make plays. He is damaged goods and his decline has been precipitous since a rookie and more after his neck injury. He really should have been dealt after the neck injury.

I have no vested interest in anything or anyone except winning. We are going nowhere with wolfboy. 3-3 after two weeks and more likely 3-5 in 4 or 5. Mark my words. This defense is good but it is clearly hiding wolfboy’s deficiencies. It will not continue against better teams. But the wolfboy lovers will make excuses and still not see what is happening.

Sounds about right, but he still has a role to play, if Quinn is still starting him. He's on the last year of his contract...if he wasn't doing what he is being asked to do, he wouldn't be in there.
Really what about Dak……$160 million and the worst QB rating so far in the league.

That play showed how Cox can react to a play and get outside using his quickness and speed. I know he is not a MLB but LVE is slow reacting and slow running, a bad combination. Cox showed the ability to see the play and get to the ball in a hurry.

btw, wasn't Parson's supposed to be a MLB? To get him involved in the pass rush all the time now they moved him up almost like a DE. That puts a lot of pressure on LVE and he is just not quick enough for what they are asking him to do.

I also think Barr has lost a step too and has some similar problems to LVE.

If you want to know what is wrong with the run defense, just look at who the RBs are running past when they head down field.
Bingo….bingo…..bingo……i am licking my chops if I am rams, philly, Green Bay and others who will shred wolf boy with ease. Can you say Swiss cheese. It is coming to a deli near you!!!!!

Means nothing. He is awarded tackles if he is the third man in on the backside 30 yards downfield. Means absolutely nothing. He was awarded a tackle for tackling Parsons tackling the runner. Let’s put the tackles stat to rest. And Parsons would be a superstar regardless of tackles and had fewer tackles. Parson was deemed incredible and wolfboy a dud.

What about him? Getting tired of cox already?
You said LVE would not be in there if he wasn’t doing what he was asked to do. So Dak has been asked to miss all his passes and look horrible? Think not.

He isn't on the backside 30 yards downfield. How about you try and stick to facts no matter how difficult it is for you.
