It’s fascinating how hard the Eagles try and hide Hurts’ deficiencies

It was 14-0 against the jaguars. They opened witH A TD drive and a pick 6, and then Hurts rattled off 29 straight points

That's what I thought but he posted 17-0 as the score which is why asked. And as far as coming back from a 14-0 from the Jaguars, you got back in it and won due to multiple turn overs by the Jaguars. You got 5 extra possessions. Three on the Jaguars side of the field (34, 24, 14 yard line), one near mid field(48 yard line) and another one on the Philly side (16 yard line). You are not going to get that type of extra possession in most games.

The Eagles understand what they have in Hurts and they built an offense that plays to his strengths and masks his many weaknesses. We did that with Dak and then after paying him decided that he automatically became more than what he is Jalen Hurts 1.0

While I understand the point you’re making, we have been getting it in most games. We got it against 4-2 Dallas despite Rush having 0 turnovers going into that game, we got it against 5-1 Minnesota despite Cousins playing extremely efficiently in the other 5 games, we got it against Arizona and there really aren’t many teams on our schedule who have an offense that will outright prevent it (maybe Rodgers if he gets his act together). we’ve set the nfl record for consecutive games to win the turnover battle to start a season. We’re something like +10 in better than any other team in the league in turnover differential.

Its like saying Dallas’s sacks won’t continue all season. Well… why not?

Jalen Hurts is the black Tim Tebow, he can only run that RPO crap and is awful throwing the ball downfield from the pocket.

This is a capstone of the offensive coordinator position. Create a scheme that neutralizes weaknesses and capitalizes on strengths.

As bad as this sounds it is 100% accurate IMHO. The defender if faced with the decision between QB and RB should just attack the QB every time. Even if he hands it off. It may leave you short handed against the run but so be it. No QB is gonna remain keen on that offense if they are getting the crap beat out of them. Key on the QB that way you take away the QB run and you can affect the QB pass. It leaves you vulnerable to the run but at least then you have a plan. Standing there undecided accomplishes nothing.
There's a small detail that you overlooked...unsportsmanlike conduct. The NFL protects QBs. You think they're going to let players tee off on QBs who don't have the ball?

And maybe that's true, but he's winning doing it. It works for him and defenses haven't stopped it.

Yeah they should have lost a few games on purpose to "not peak too early", Also they lost multiple lineman so the whole very very very healthy comment is null. How about you just admit our OC could not scheme a game to save his life last night, and we almost beat them still with a backup QB.
A backup QB who won 4 straight games. Stop with the excuses. Nick Foles won a SB as a backup.

Not only you guys got 5 TO, but 3 were inside Jag's 35 yard line and another near mid field. If you're offense needs that kind of turn overs to win games from behind, good luck. You are not always going to play Cooper Rush or Kirk Cousins in prime time where he is known to choke. Even as poorly as our offense played in the first half, you guys couldn't finish us off until almost end of 4th quarter. You should have dropped a 40 burger on us the way we played in the first half.

Thats moral victory stuff. We had more points halfway through the second quarter than you had the whole game. I don’t really care if we win by a blowout or “just” 9.

I realize we don’t get Cooper rush all year, but who is it we’re getting that will change the course of our season?

Kyler Murray, Kirk Cousins, Jared Goff, Carson Wentz… not exactly a list of the best QBs in the nfl, but that’s the hardest Qb gauntlet on our schedule and we crushed it.

Next up we have…

Taylor Heineke
Mitch Trubisky/Kenny Pickett
Davis Mills
Matt Ryan
Justin Fields
Daniel Jones

You say we won’t keep getting favorable opportunities against lesser QBs, but it looks like the opportunities are going to continue

oh no doubt that you have the easiest schedule in the NFL. The problem you will have is the fools gold of perceived dominance, only to have it shattered come playoff time…..ask me how I know.

Now don’t get me wrong they are pretty good at it thus far, but the amount of smoke and mirrors and lengths they go to to avoid putting him in anything remotely resembling an obvious drop back passing situation is crazy. Even Baltimore didn’t do it to this degree with Lamar in his first full year.

He had 34 drop backs tonight and only on NINE did he not have a designed RPO, roll out or a single read quick hitter. On two of those he was sacked and on three more he scrambled. He threw the ball FOUR TIMES on traditional drop backs and had two completions.

I’ve never seen anything like it. It looks like a college offense. This is not sustainable.

You act like the Eagles viewed him as a straight drop back passer from the beginning and are now shocked to find he isn't that kind of player.

The Eagles obviously knew when they drafted Hurts that his ability to move was a significant part of his value, so it shouldn't surprise anyone that they are using that ability.

It's also pretty understandable that they would have him on the move against the Cowboys, who lead the NFL in sacks. The game plan would naturally be designed to help minimize the effect of that pass rush.

+1......This is Hurts's 3rd year, so they have to start nego with him next season. Then there's Smith and a couple of O-linemen. My guess, knowing Roseman, is they will go all in this year and next to try a win a SB. If they do, he will start moving valuable pieces (players ) for draft picks.
They really value O-line, and they have a chance to keep this unit together a few more years. Mailata and Dickerson are under contract for 3 more years. Kelce will probably retire, but his clone was drafted this year and is learning under him. Johnson is still under contract I believe through 2023. He'll be 33 next year but has indicated that he would like to end his career with the Eagles. I think they keep this unit over Hurts if it comes down to $$$$$. I think Dak would florish behind that line.

Not sure where you get this moral victory stuff as my post wasn't to pump our team. It was to point out your offensive style isn't made to score quickly and blow out teams easily. The game on Sunday proves that. Yes, you have an easy schedule, and you won't be challenged much but once you play a team with a good sound offense and defense, you'll have hard time winning games if you get behind.

It worked. What’s fascinating is the Cowboys looked lost defending it. That play they ran to Brown a few times.. they could’ve did that all night.
