Sunday Night Football: Packers at Bills

Boy I hate it when a ball carrier runs in reverse thinking they'll escape tacklers. More times than not, they lose yardage.

I still think that the Bills are going to win by a couple of TDs at least, but we will see what Rodgers has.

Boy I hate it when a ball carrier runs in reverse thinking they'll escape tacklers, they almost always lose yardage.
The smart play is always to throw the ball out of bounds as long as they're outside the tackle box and the ball gets back to the line of scrimmage so no grounding.

But speedsters are rarely brainiacs like QBs so that almost never happens.

Since it was a handoff there's no foul for illegal forward pass either.

Unless a linemen was downfield

But since it's a running play there's a 99% chance you'll get flagged for having linemen downfield.

Had him beat but Arod was a bit short
Just like last year against the Niners

Unless a linemen was downfield
Well in that case then that's a foul that is either declined or enforced without loss of down only 5 yards.

Throwing the ball away means loss of down but no loss of yards like a grounding or illegal forward pass.

But since it's a running play there's a 99% chance you'll get flagged for having linemen downfield.
Which is a five yard penalty and repeat the down OR penalty declined and loss of down but no loss of yards.

I don't know why they just don't throw it away out of bounds if they are going to lose 5 yards.

Even if they throw a flag for ineligible lineman downfield u get a 5 yard penalty but replay the down. 1st and 15 is better than 2nd and 15. If they decline the flag it's still 2nd and 10 as opposed to 2nd and 15.

I know u couldn't do it all the time but if you are running towards the sidelines and guaranteed to lose yards, just throw it out of bounds
