What is "difficult " carries exactly?

The source is Next Gen Stats that tracks and metrics is explained at the bottom of the graph.

Basically expected yards is determined by where the ball carrier gets the ball and where the defenders are positioned at that time.

I'm assuming defenses play a bit softer to protect the pass when Zeke is in because they don't fear him breaking a long one.

Defenses must respect the run more when Pollard is in.

I bet Pollard is better at Pin the tail on the donkey. Oh, I forgot about Parsons.

I like Tony Pollard, I think he's a very capable and dangerous back. No he's not the guy that's going to carry it 25 to 30 times a game, nor is the physical enough in past protection. But there's no denying he is a very dangerous weapon to have. "Speed in space wins the race" every running back needs room to run, but not every back provides the electricity and big play capability as Tony Pollard.

As for as the degree of difficulty when toting the rock, that depends on if the block was made or not. Not a good day for any running back when the O-line gets beat.

Yeah, where defenders are at the time of the handoff should not affect the run at all

Ok, here's a handoff

Now explain to me without sounding like a pencil neck who never played the game how you quantify the "difficulty" of the carry and expected yardage. Good luck because the team who invented the stat had no exposure to football their damn selves.

tony P avgs 6.0 EE avgs 4.0 , which says pollard is better and is breaking more runs for long gains.
Dont need a chart like that to see that.
