Running Back next draft

Yeah, more like the 4th round, 3rd at the earliest. Maybe someone like Bijan Robinson will slip to 3rd/4th.

No chance. He’s basically the Saquon / Fournette / Elliot of this class.

He’ll go in the 1st bc some teams are dumb enough to go RB in the 1st.

Char bonnet is one of my favs that could fall to the 3rd.

Anyone see Pearce the rookie out of Florida a mid round pick slice and dice the Eagles last night for the Texans . The Cowboys rounds 3-4 can find this type back next draft for either or both 20 & 21 is gone next season .

Yup…size/speed back with fresh legs.

I wouldn't count on a starting running back being available later in the draft. Sure, great players CAN be found, but it's still a crap shoot. If Pollard and Zeke are gone, it's a huge risk to bank on a rookie 3rd+ round selection to fill those shoes.

I want speed guys like Sean Tucker or Devon Achane. I’d take Robinson or Gibbs in the second round, but there’s no way we should use a 1st round pick on a RB. That position isn’t durable enough to waste a premium pick on

Teams hit on them every year.

I’d draft a cheap vet to be safe but it’s not hard to hit on RBs…

I like Jahmyr Gibbs - think he would be a great replacement for Pollard. My gut tells me Elliott will still be on the team next year at a significantly reduced contract. Hope we learned are lesson about running backs on 2nd contracts.

this guy 1000%! Can do it all and has the speed.

Bijon imo will be lucky for us if he made it to late first. He's projected as high as top 10

Maybe Chris Rodriguez or Lew Nichols in the 3rd/4th. That's if they have burst and lateral agility. I'm not interested in reading scouting reports at this time, so I don't know if they have the desired traits or not, along w/ the ability to not get injured.

Pollard a FA next year would cost too much to franchise and Schultz is proving it’s the wrong route go when you have a Ferguson Hendershot ready to take over in 23 and your franchise TE has been hobbled throughout .

Zeke yr 8 next yr which is practically ancient for that position in the NFL and expensive .

Zach Evans out of Ole Miss on day two of the 23 draft 3rd round would be a nice fit to eventually be your workhorse back . Pollard remember was a 4th rounder and he’s carved out a nice niche with Elliott .

Kenneth Walker who the Seahawks just love as there 2nd rounder was a guy I had hoped Dallas would take this drsdt but it would mean no Sam Williams and probably meant Dallas would have had to trade up to have taken Walker who went slot 41 . RB is critical to the success of your expensive QB and Evans would be a good transition .
Nope. Franchise Tag was the correct decision with Schultz. Bridge to the young players with no long term committment.

It would be even better with Pollard.

Tags for TE and RB are the best deals for teams.

Cut Zeke.
Franchise Pollard.
Draft a RB.

The 2022 RB tag was 9.57M.
- It was 18M for WRs.

Zeke's 2023 salary is 10.9M

If the 2023 tag increases 10% it's still less than Zeke's salary. i.e. They save money.

It would have been stupid to not Franchise Schultz. One of Dak's favorite targets and unknown rookies or McKeon as the other options. It happened before the draft which means they would have ended up forcing a pick at TE if Schultz was gone.

Kenneth Walker might be the NFC rookie offensive player of the year he would have looked good in Dallas although with 21 and 20 still here I understand why Dallas didn’t trade up 2nd round to grab him .

Sam Williams I am thrilled with that pick man is going to be quite an edge . In Seattle Pete Carroll has a legit home run threat in Walker to help Geno Smith drive the bus , hoping Walker goes off on the Giants today .
If an Adrian Peterson type was available late 1st, that would be a good pick for any team in any year.

In the modern era a RB in the top 5 is probably not a good option regardless of talent level but late 1st is a completely different story.

Obviously it depends on the other players available.

There is often a void in the late first with regards to premium positions. In 2022 only 1 DT between pick 13 and pick 47. One WR between 18 and 43.

Yup, 3rd and 4th are the sweet spot.

Just give me fresh legs with a good size/speed combo and someone that is adequate in pass pro.

I love Corum from MICH but he’s a little small so no idea how good in pass pro he is. The dudes from Ole Miss and UCLA are 2 of my top targets.

They showed alot of interest in day 2 guys like Spiller and Walker last year. Just my take, but I think they would have taken one on the 4th if they fell.

I think there is a very good chance they take a HB day 2 or the 4th round next year

It's a weird position because its not hard to find good ones, but its also a player that will touch the ball 250-350 times a year. Not placing some degree of emphasis on the position could be perilous. We saw that in 2015 before Romo went down. 3rd and 4th round is the sweet spot, because you could still get talent with near elite skill sets like Dameon Peirce

Yea, I like rounds 3-5. Seems a great blend of where the talent and value meshes up.

I’d be fine signing a cheaper vet too just nothing crazy.

Early look at it, but haven't watched all of them give me Sean Tucker. Tucker's vision, acceleration and cutting agility + finish runs makes him an excellent partner to the Cowboys OL.

Yeah, I’m a big Sean Tucker fan. Quick feet which is what you need working through line, good acceleration, and has been utilized a lot as a receiver at Syracuse.

I would also point out Tucker is really adept with running from the draw which Kellen Moore loves to do.

With all that said, I don’t know how wise it is to draft a guy that looks like he’s 35 years old already. Felix Jones suffered from the same thing.

Tucker is a stud, but can’t be drafting 35 year olds.
