We need to continue to use the run with him. I know you look a the stats and its only 3 for 16 yards. But I believe most of that was in the first half.

My point has always been since dak came up. He has struggled early in games. But if you do some RPO, read option type stuff. It helps you pick up a couple key first downs. It helps dak get into rhythm like he was today.

We have an imposing running game, imagine making the defense react a split second late? Just the threat of dak running should be huge for this offense.
Right. The best stat for this team is 25 passing attempts. That means we're running well, Dak even got some runs.

22-25 for 276 yards and 2 TD’s. Passer rating of 139.3. Made some outstanding throws and should’ve had 3 TD’s if Schultz wouldn’t have dropped that pass in the end zone.
Yes he was damn near perfect, none even close to being an INT. He looked decisive, didn't hold the ball too long and even ran some too. I agree Schultz's could have been a TD. The one he short hopped to Gallup had to be thrown low like that or could have been a pick 6, had no problem with that either. Thats something when you remember two of the only 3 incompletions all day. Cant remember the third, was it to Lamb?

Even if Cooper could have done that Dak did it. I mean come on, why take a dump on a perfect cake? Dak did a good job today, as the whole friggin team. And that's that.
The cake dumping is reserved for Zeke every week, it seems. I agree.....it was a good team win. What a change of attitude. I thought KMoore called one of his best games yesterday (And I'm a KMoore OC hater).

Dak played great. A lot of good throws.

I wish that I could sit down with Kellen and say "see?". Dak had 25 attempts in an attack that was run first and the passing plays had clear outlet valves. In a run first attack, things open up for Dak and the passing game and Dak is more than capable of taking advantage of it.

I was watching Dak warm up and during passing drills he was throwing pretty spirals that hitting guys right in the hands. I told my wife that he was going to have a good game. Off course some drunk Vikings fans got on me for saying that. I looked at them at halftime and smiled.

In no way do we have the run defense fixed IMO. The instant we are up against an o-line that has pulling guards with good footwork and a thumping RB we are introuble with the stretch runs.

We need LBs who are not "peekaboo" types but willing to move quickly to fill run gaps, and we need corners who are strong at the point of attack and will seal off the edges if the runner or blockers get past the defensive ends.

The Vikings did not have a run game that was a serious threat today due to the depletions on their o-line. Our challenges this season are not over yet.
I appreciate your thoughts and good points about coming up against more skilled offense and defensive opponents. I also believe the coordinators and head coach are acutely aware of this as well. I think we all realize that in any team sport, particularly NFL and the CFL, teams are in a continuous state of adjustment or repair throughout the season. Romo noted in this contest that this offensive line is becoming more blocking cohesive as these players continue to perform together.

I am also clarifying that this is a stop gap fix to build on if we have the player will not just the talent including coaching expertise. Determination and focus are powerful intangibles.

He did play a good game against a good team. I wouldn’t call it outstanding as it’s pretty standard numbers for a QB in a game.
It was refreshing to see for sure and I hope he can do that consistently as it will allow the defense stay fresh for the long haul.

Yeah I think it's fair to say he needs to be consistent. Just like it's fair to say the defense needs to play like this consistently for us to have success in the playoffs. Not a criticism or hate, but general factual statements.
So true, I don't know why its taboo to offer legitiment criticism of Dak.
No player is a sacred cow, they all have areas they could improve on, and you should not be labeled a hater
for pointing that out.

That'll happen when the entire Cowboys team is beating up on a weaker team.
Dak enjoyed not having to make a difference because the defense and Tony Pollard were carrying the Cowboys today.
Dak got to pad his stats while the Cowboys were on a roll.
He's always done that.
When he has to be the reason the Cowboys win, he'll disappear again.

But so much of that, and no I'm not taking away from Prescott, was the play of the offensive line.

Over the recent past when this offense really stank... Last season vs. Arizona & SF. This season vs. TB... The offensive line play was flat-out poor.

When the offensive line plays well, then the running game rolls and pass attempts can be minimized.
Also the score.
Stay ahead of the score, less throwing.
Get behind, more throwing.

Here we go again..

Vikings pass defense is absolute garbage and has been all year. They are ranked 29th in the league going into today with yards given up, 26th in attempts and 27 NY/A.

Pollard was basically running all over the defense and Dallas chewed up TOP, wearing out an already horrible defense by half-time. Dak had all day to throw as the OL completely stifled the defensive front.

Pollard had like a 30 yard TD on a check-down on a coverage, when nobody was guarding him and the OL was giving Dak all day to throw. They got Pollard isolated on a LB on 3rd in 14, which is the absolute worst coverage you could give him and he had like 3 yards on the defender.

The game was essentially meaningless for them as far as the division is concerned for them. They went into the game with a 5 game lead over the Lions. They rested their starting LT, who is considered the highest ranked OL in the league and their LT was abused by Micah all day. These types of blowout games tell you absolutely nothing regarding a football team and give teams nothing but false hope, as the opposing team plays horrible in every phase in the game and the team essentially had checked out by the half.
Anything and everything can be downplayed when looked at through certain lenses and just about all of it can be truths and half-truths manipulated with and without the whole story.

I enjoy that you're at least eloquent about it.

He threw one out of the end zone as well.
