Why a Cowboys-Eagles Bout in Round 2 of Playoffs Likely Looms

If the playoffs were to start today it would be Cowboys and Eagles in round 2 of the playoffs (assuming Dallas gets through it's wild card game). And even if things bounce around a fair bit with seeds shifting in remaining games...these two have a very good probability of ending up facing each other a third game this year--in round two.

This is the case even if Dallas wins the division.

I don't want to bore people with the details. If you have questions...I spent a bit of time looking at seeding/playoff format, current standings and odds... Here for you, as always.

I still don't trust Dak, he could come out next week and look like a 4th round reach again. It's looking likely we get a wildcard but I can't see this team stringing together three playoff caliber wins. Too sloppy with penalties (leading the league again) and Dak is Dr Jekyll a Mr Hyde, even OBJ can't compensate for that.

Bring 'em on.
Yep, bring it. We didn't play them full strength the first game and our offense and de6is starting to get. I also think Philly will be the latest "best team in the regular season " to be eliminated in the playoffs. Think back to the last couple seasons. Us, 2 13-3 Packers teams, etc. Most of the time the beat team kn the regular season gets thumped in the playoffs, especially if their schedule wasn't very hard. I'm directly thinking of those Pacjers teams that got the #1 seed feasting off of the Bears, Vikings (who were kind of average) and the Lions, who suck. Us last year and us in 2005 and 2016. Normally in this day and age of parity the best team in the season has not done well in the post season.

Said before and say it again, to stop their offense, you needs a strong front four, decent LBers and strong CBs. At a min, your need your front four to create pressure WITHOUT blizing. Coz remember they have top weapons at TE, RB, WR,WR, QB and RB again counting Hurts. This is what you're trying to stop/slow down on any given play and to be honest, most teams simply don't have enough defensive weapons but WE DO.

Alert:

Gotta admit to something before this thread continues:
I might have not have properly understood one vital part of the playoff rules correctly.

Note to self: don't study this before bed after 3 cocktails.

My apologies. Tried to serve with info, and screwed up.

I really don't think anyone fears the Eagles. I've heard people astonish over the Bills in the first 7 games, the Chiefs, the Niners in the last 4 games, and even the Cowboys in the last 2 games but I really feel like an overwhelming consensus believes the Eagles are overrated, worse than their record and their schedule so far has been a real cakewalk.

Also, if you ask the Vikings or Giants who they'd rather face.... Cowboys or Eagles, I'm betting they'll both say the Eagles. As for the Commanders I'm not sure what they'll say but they haven't had much, if any, success against Dak.

Assuming Dallas gets through their Wildcard game is farcical.

All teams still have 6 games remaining, way too early to predict. Cowboys can still win the division and also can still fail to make the playoffs.

You can trust Prescott.

Any time he will be asked to do anything to lift up anyone he will fail every time.

They have to win it another way and that's really, really hard to do.
