As title states, the QB position needs to be addressed.

Regardless of how you feel about him, there are facts that cannot be denied. Dak has thrown at least one Interception in every game he has started this season (except the Vikings game). The turnovers HAVE to stop. I don’t care if it’s miscommunication or simple lack of ability, TAKE CARE OF THE BALL. It is his SOLE responsibility to get the ball into the hands of the playmakers and he gets it in the hands of the opposing playmakers. It’s why we lost against the Packers. It’s why we struggle in every first half of games.

That leads me to my next point— STOP THE COLD STARTS. The cold starts HAVE to STOP. When we play Philly. When we play in the playoffs, these little prissy teams like the Colts, Lions, and Bears may allow that to slide, but the Eagles won’t. The 49ers (who are still a good team, mind you. They won 33-17 last night, have CMC, an excellent defense, and a great coaching staff). Even Bucs and Brady. They will not allow this self destruction. And what happens when we self destruct early? We start to throw. And what happens when we throw too much and rely on Dak? We lose. It’d be another wasted year, except worse. A wasted talented defense (with run flaws). Waste of Pollards last cheap and excellent year.

He threw for 170 yards last night and still played poorly. The run game and defense are what saved this team. He had short field on majority of his drives and struggled and was only saved by our run game and ridiculous catches made by Ceedee and Gallup. Something needs to be done. Now we need a plan of action.

Next year’s draft isn’t looking too good for those looking to invest in QBs and we can’t trade. We’ll likely need to draft in 2024 for a QB. We need to prepare now. Sign Pollard, cut Zeke, prepare for Dak to leave in 24/25 ish and go from there.

Until then, we need to make like McVay in 2018 when he got Goff to a Super Bowl. Hide his flaws as much as possible. It will be hard because Dak’s intangibles are much harder to hide that Goff’s, who’s only real intangibility was inability to read a defense.

Anyone else have any input on what should be done? What can we do to assure this team’s chances of success can remain high?

I completely agree. We need a game changer at QB. A guy that gets 60 instead of 50. :lmao2::lmao2::lmao2::lmao::lmao::laugh::laugh:
A true elite QB like Mahomes. Am I crazy for thinking we need a player like that? Surely you don't believe Dak is that guy.

To consistently post on a message board filled with other fans of the team you supposedly support and for it to be consistently mocked due to its stupidity is something else.

Why would I, as a grown man, keep posting on a forum where I consistently get crapped on for my far out opinion? Like isn’t the main point here to get some camaraderie going with fellow fans and discuss interesting topics? Not only is the topic you post about the same every time, but it’s never met with any real acceptance and solidarity.

For the only time to have any agreement be when your team loses is so counterproductive to me. But todays troll culture is strange. People genuinely get entertained by saying outlandish things and seeing others reactions. So weird to me but hey to each his own. If you wanna constantly post and get laughed at that’s your prerogative lol.

Oh you’re talking about a once in a generation guy? Like who doesn’t want that lmao they just are extremely rare. There’s 3/4 guys in the world who can play like that.

Everyone wants to win the 1B$ powerball, but there’s a 99% chance you’ll spend all that money and never win it. Hoping that you hit the 1B powerball while throwing away tickets that win 50k is stupid.

If your goal is to get rich, you don’t throw away money. If your goal is to win games, you don’t throw away a top 10-12 QB for the rare chance at a top 3-4 one. You do realize franchises go generations without top 12 QB’s?

You can wish for a Mahomes all you want, reality says that generational franchise QB’s aren’t something you can just plan for. If you’re fortunate enough to get one great, but if you find a good QB you don’t send him off because he’s not elite lol.

I agree that the quarterback position needs to be addressed. I'm not talking about a change in the starter, I'm talking about an entire new philosophy when it comes to acquiring talent at the position.

Over the past 27 seasons, from 1996 to the present, the Cowboys have drafted a total of six quarterbacks. Only one quarterback was drafted higher than the 4th round. One of the picks was never intended to be an NFL quarterback but a special teamer.

The Cowboys have relied more on rookie free agents that were not drafted. Their efforts have often yielded nothing with one very notable exception. While Romo had a great career as a Cowboy, he is the exception to the rule. A more target rich area for finding QB talent is in the top three rounds of the draft.

if the Cowboys were to make a commitment of drafting a QB in one of the top three rounds every three years then the Cowboys would always have an inexpensive backup with the potential of improving each season and eventually starting.

This would make a great negotiation tool for management because the starting QB would always be aware that he can simply be replaced by a younger QB with practically the same potential. If the team didn't need the backup then he would have excellent trade value.

The Cowboys have always viewed the QB position as the starter and the backup. They need to look at the position as a squad of potential starters. That would effectively eliminate the need for 40 million dollar a year contracts.

No doubt.

He's had the numero uno offense since he returned.

And somehow, we have to address the QB position because he throws INTs, like every other QB, even the so-called GOAT, Tom Brady.

You're right about the cold starts. But I have no idea what they'll need to do about it.

This is misleading. People who say that starts are all that important don't really understand how establishing the run actually works.

If you're a running team, it's not uncommon to start out slow, which we are a running team.

Because you're establishing the run early on.

I picked a bad weekend to quit Meth.:facepalm::facepalm::facepalm::facepalm::facepalm::facepalm::facepalm::facepalm::facepalm::facepalm::facepalm::facepalm::facepalm::facepalm:

If you're serious, stop.

Stuff is terrible for your body.

I'm not looking down my nose at you; just hate seeing people do this to themselves. Even if I don't know you.

Not crazy for wanting that, but there isn't a Mahomes Store™ down the street. If there was, every team would have one.

Yep, some of the fanbase also think you only win with an Uber do everything QB rather than a supreme game manager. The last SB winners: Stafford, Brady, Mahomes and Foles only one of which is an all action do anything QB.

Build a good roster (both sides of the ball) around a very good managerial QB.

You know what else is bad. . . Grown men who dress up like Teddy Bears
Dude, didn’t you say that before to me? What in the **** are you talking about? And why?

What does it mean? Are you being literal and that’s your commentary on grown men and what they should and should not wear? If so I will note your preferences.

Are you ok?

Josh Allen is throwing multiple picks a game. In the red zone at that. Should Buffalo be planning to move on from him as well?
