He’s a warm body. I liked him okay coming out of Clemson but his play has been somewhat less than stellar.

However, I’ve learned that some coaches can get different things out of different players, so I’ll take a wait and see attitude on him.

Quinn might have a very specific thing that he needs out of a guy… who can play better when asked to do less/different things.

In other words, I’ll trust Quinn on this.
All of this was said about Kearse let's give the guy a chance smh

I expected and predicted they would add a CB. But I didn't see this coming.

5' 10" out of Clemson. Vikings drafted him at #54 (7th CB drafted) in 2016.

College:
First-team All-ACC (2015)
Third-team All-American (2015)
Freshman All-American (2014)

"At the conclusion of the pre-draft process, Alexander was projected to be a late first round or second round pick by NFL draft experts and scouts. He was ranked as the third best cornerback prospect in the draft by Sports Illustrated, was ranked the third best cornerback by DraftScout.com, and was ranked the seventh best cornerback by NFL analyst Mike Mayock."

I dont think it gets much better at this point in the year. We got a younger guy with actual pedigree that has played well before. Looks like a good signing on the surface, but I know as much as you've told me. Lol

As @AsthmaField posted, different coaches make a big difference with some players.

Dan Quinn seems to have a knack for getting more from players than other coaches.

That seems almost definite; although, Wright will be active which takes the spot vacated by Brown.

Is Brown officially on IR? If so that gives them the two spots they need for Tyron Smith and James Washington soon. For another corner they will need to create more roster space.

Did not play well the last season he was healthy but was a solid player before that. I guess they bringing the CB from the PS up and Alexander will take his place as depth.
That would be my guess
But he has had a couple solid years
I think the kid on PS would be most logical since he’s had lots of practice in the system

At this point in the season you expect most guys that can be good contributors to have already signed. However, I'll never complain about adding a corner with starting experience to the practice squad for depth.
