FRISCO, Texas – Odell Beckham, Jr. is apparently on the verge of joining the Dallas Cowboys for the upcoming NFL playoffs, according to the man who signs the checks.

“Odell’s going to join us,” Cowboys owner Jerry Jones told USA TODAY Sports on Thursday. “There’s a good chance he will, with the complete goal of getting ready for a playoff game or two, and then I’ll look to the future. But most of it being about now.”

Jones didn’t reveal financial details, but said he expects that the star wide receiver – coming off ACL surgery after being injured in Super Bowl 56 for the Los Angeles Rams -- will be signed to a contract for the rest of this season.

nah he meant Might or could possibly IF hes still out there come the week before the playoffs and hes can be ready to play game 1 of the payoffs at a very team friendly deal.. lots of ifs and butts etc.

he not coming, Jerry said still a "possibility"

Did they say to play receiver or to give the team pre-game pep talks? The details matter, you know.

I have to think that this will be a puffed up multi year contract that looks bigger than it is. And it will ultimately be a try before you buy deal with an option to pick up or not immediately after the season.

Agreed. Also will probably provide obj an option to test free agency in the event that he looks really good or better than anticipated

Thats not even close to what he said. He is talking about getting him into the Star to rehab. Read the quote man. lol

A quote from the article that I'm not crazy about:

“I’m hopeful we can get into some important games and have some Deion Sanders-type results,” Jones said. “Could this be possible to have a great player like that get in two or three playoff games and make some significant plays? I think very much so. That’s not an exaggerated thought at all."

Even if OBJ is 100%, he's not going to have the impact Deion had.

OBJ would be a mistake. He's not going to put the team over the top. It will be a lot of salary cap allocated to very little production when it's all said and done. Not to mention the distraction.

Improving the DL and OL would help.

I know Jerry means well. But getting to SB, includes so many factors, its beyond rocket science.

My take OBJ is if you were going to do, do it for this year and next. Very good chance he may not help you this year, but be 100% next. It would be a fake 3 year deal with an out after 2023
