Fans have it backwards about Dan Quinn

I don’t know why the media always acts like our roster is so wonderful. Incredible overrated IMO and lacking talent in quite a few key areas.

We have a good roster, but not a roster talented enough to make a playoff run.

if we look at the roster honestly, several areas remain lacking. Wr corp, Defensive tackles, secondary depth, etc..

The question to ask is, “ if the Eagles GM Howie Roseman was in charge of the Cowboys, would he stand pat with our current roster”?…………I think most of us know the answer

if Jerry was GM of the Eagles, Santa would be naked on the party bus.

Dan Quinn over- achieved relative to the talent on the roster early this season and most of last season.

The bad games on defense are due to the players playing at their actual talent level as a group. Quinn can't scheme away a lack of talent in all games.

Anthony Barr played over 90% of snaps in the Jax game...no other team wanted him at this point in his career. Barr can't outrun Jason Peters in a footrace.

Wilson is an average Safety that Quinn schemed to look like a very good Safety in some games. Same for Kearse.

DT Watkins is playing extensive snaps as the starting 1tech DT.

The 4th and 5th CBs are starting now and we don't know who is the 5th CB.

Quinn got 8 sacks from Armstrong...
A lot of that is true. He elevated the game of several average players with scheme, and late in the year, with injuries and plenty of film, the better teams are scheming us to mediocrity. That said, we DO have some talent. Lawrence, Parsons, Diggs, Bland, Clark—an above average foundation.

A team that can't sustain a high level of intensity when things are truly on the line, just doesn't sustain commitment consistently and starts to drop in value.
Does Dak Prescott have judgement problems on routes right up the middle of the field or slightly to his right center at about 10-20 meters deep?

Our defensive stars have to start to show up, Parson’s cannot be a non-factor against backup tackles. We lost several quality role players, depth must pick up the slack. I would do a few changes, move Parsons to lb until Lve returns, pick and chose when to rush him. I would insert Alexander in the slot and move Bland to the outside

It seems like they have to move Parsons to LB with LVE out.

Opponents will just target Barr on both pass and run plays...

I think Lawrence is pretty close when he's healthy, which isn't often enough. When Lawrence redid his deal earlier this year, Todd Archer wrote this about him: Over the past five seasons, Lawrence has the fifth-best pass rush win rate (24.9%), the fifth-best pressure rate (11.7%) and 206 pressures (seventh best in the league).

We tend to underrate him because of the sack numbers.
I ommitted a future elite player, Sam Williams. His physical abiliy is off the charts.

Yes, DLaw is underrated by most fans, but his 2017 2nd team All Pro selection will be the last All Pro selection for him.

Looked very stiff out there, safe to say he won’t be a Cowboy next season.

Good excuse for Dan Quinn......... but what's the excuse for not stopping the run game......every team is facing injuries no excuses for allowing 500yds to the JAGs....Dan Quinn has been exposed....fraud
Nice Rowdy Avatar...

i believe its more to do with injuries to key positions, some of its sure they have adjusted BUT most of it is injuries. You cant lose 2 starting CBS and not have teams expose the backups, Parson has been nicked for a month now, Tank has foot injury, DA been jn and out , LVE out , Hankins out, Barr out in and out again, lots of issues trying to plug that many holes.

Parson has had a groin come and go all season, wearing a shoulder brace, had the knee ankle deal, and seems to have a flu bug that got him bad the last 2 weeks. add that up to team that's playing hurt and shorthanded, being exposed properly as the opponents know where you are short and attack it.

now DQ must adjust. hard to plug that many holes but sometimes not you revaluate talent and maybe run more zone than man or vice versa, different fronts and lineups maybe go to true 4-3 or 3-4 if what was working with all your starters are no longer working.

Unfortunately it appears Jerry is leaning towards a shiny offensive weapon as the missing ingredient.
I hope I’m wrong, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s an offensive side of the ball draft in the spring

I’m 1000% confident we’d be much more of a contender.

Thing is, right before the draft, many here will be screaming for a CB. And, I'm sure the FO will be hinting about CB's also. If they don't take an elite 1T or grab one in FA, they've not learned a darn thing about the D flaws this season.

um sorry this years no diffent then 20 years past and beyond, 7 rounds, teams turn over 20-30% of their rosters yearly and we need all of those things, a wr, CB, LB, LG and others, who they draft and when comes from a scouting and who there when you draft,, shiny? any of those positions have shiny players at 25, yes you take them..how many true DT/NT PB HOF true blue chip can't miss types are at 25? maybe one per draft and they go top 5-10 and not a guarantee there either and well when you are winning and picking bottom 10 in the draft many years, hard to find that guy in that spot. you then take best available with need in mind. the DC and Jerry and the entire staff has had great drafts

so im not sure what you think they go just shiny..they took 73 against ALL FANS WISHES many times took an OL over shiny..sorry you are off base.

show me how many elite cant miss 1t are in each draft and fall to where? same in FA how many still young in their peaks come available in FA each year.
