Was the last play of the game one of the dumbest you've ever seen?

There is a difference between dumb and didn’t work. The cowboys play didn’t work, but the logic of trying to get as many skill players on the field as possible with a couple big guys to block outside makes a ton of sense.

I actually loved the idea of them taking an extremely low percentage situation and trying something new. I bet you see teams build off of that play for end of game scenarios.

We were done anyways, who cares ?

Yes sir! I always think about this play in that situation. Put Turp in with a wall just like a kickoff and see what happens
And who knows, that may have been the inspiration for it. The Cowboys were clearly looking to set up some sort of wall look with a lateral or two included. I think the KC play worked so well because the Cowboys went next level on the prevent look. Even for prevent you need to have levels to your defense. Terrible play call that allowed Tyreek Hill to make one man miss explode for the TD. SF had the right idea on Sunday to play a few guys up and aggressive instead of sitting back and letting the offense execute.

I'm glad someone brought this play up. I haven't rewatched the game but didn't the ref's basically hold the ball for like 45 seconds or so AFTER we got in formation??

I mean, whether the play was good or bad part of the reason you do something like this is to put the other team in quick reaction mode and hope that the confusion you have created helps the play be successful.

To allow them free time to assess the situation took away a big part of the advantage you might have gained.

Anyone know what the delay was all about?

No Pete Carroll electing to pass instead of running it from the 4 ( with 4 chances left ) and thus giving away a super bowl was the single dumbest call I have ever seen. Literally threw a way a lock super bowl win on one play call. MarShawn Lynch had just smashed them for a 7 yard gain and looked unstoppable .

No idea really since it did not go as planned. Zeke can’t block that guy but if he did, there is no telling what might have unfolded lol.

Doesn't matter what play they ran at the end. We weren't scoring no matter what. Maybe if Schultz didn't get knocked backwards going out of bounds or if he managed to get both feet down on a routine out route we could have had time to get into position to throw a proper Hail Mary.

If he passes out to the left, he has a speed man with blockers. Passing to the lonely guy in the middle was terrible.

Zeke had a good snap though
