Was the last play of the game one of the dumbest you've ever seen?

Worst end of play I've seen was this years New England vs Raiders ending.

I think that was more of a really bad decision on the part of whoever tried to throw the ball halfway across the field. That is the worse decision by a player this year.

Elliott got barreled over and the WR got killed the second he touched the ball? Prescott was terrible, but the design and execution of the play was a joke. There is no guarantee, they could've just lined up like a normal offense and hoped for an interference call. Not try to reinvent the wheel. It's not rocket science and nothing about that play was good. Even if there was more time on the clock. It was a ridiculous head scratcher and they were laughed off the field... again! lol

no...and I don't understand why people are so fixated on it.

They literally were trying something to try and gain an edge in a near hopeless situation.

We only saw a portion of it, so we don't know how it was fully designed to be executed. The pass to Turp was too high so he had to jump for it. Leaving his feet was the easiest way to make sure you stopped him. I'm sure if he had been able to be on his feet with the ball he would have done something special with it. A lateral to another player, most likely was the next move.

I think it was the build up that made it even worse. I'm sure Dak took a sip of water and really talked it through with McCarthy or one of the coaches genuinely giving the impression that it was going to work or at least go close, a few other players were really getting into it and you think hang on have they got something up their sleeve here...unfortunately not, just more embarrassment.

Unfortunately you have to be more specific. Each of the last 2 seasons ended on a play that was equally as stupid. You can't make this up.

Yea, I don't really disagree. I'm just thinking at that place on the field and with basically no time left there really wasn't a play that's going to get you what you need. We can agree to disagree weather that play or another should have been called, either way it's highly unlikely we score in my opinion.

Last year they had 2 shots at the end zone and ran it instead, this year they had one shot at an interference call. Instead they looked extremely foolish in both situations. agree to disagree!

That play was extremely pathetic but par for the course under the circumstances. That team was a joke.

I would definitely put it in with the top 5 dumb plays I've seen. I don't know why they couldn't just run a multi-lateral play. It's a super long-shot play, but it was all they had at that point.

Well when the offensive coordinator Kellen Moore is one of the dumbest low IQ coaches the NFL has ever seen.... its not surprising to see one of the dumbest plays ever.

you know Dak changes a high percentage of plays called by Moore. Dak is not smart enough to change plays. he needs to just run the plays that are called. Dak needs plays that only have one option. if its not open then he needs to run.

That was embarrassing. The "globetrotter" vibe was off the charts though.

Here's an idea: In gametime situations, do a professional job at controlling the clock so you're not looking inadequate and forced to make these silly gadget plays out of desperation.
There was plenty of time to get another 10 yards so that there was a remote chance for a Hail Mary. Wouldn't have worked most likely, but it would at least be a chance.

But I counted plenty of terrible reads and play calls vs. the 49ers.

Next time we are about to lose the 49ers might I suggest a few new plays:

1) Bucket of confetti - could even be dumped on the ref.

2) Ball with elastic on it so that it snaps back to Dak's hand after he throws it 10 yards.

3) Spreading banana peels & marbles at the line of scrimmage so that everybody is falling all over the place. It would be a laugh riot!

4) Throw pies - again, could involve refs.

5) Everybody wears clown shoes.

If we insist on being a laughingstock then let's go all out.
