Pretty much

That’s how it works

You build weapons

Troy Aikman was a product of his weapons / line FB RB TE Coach WR

Aikman was pedestrian regular seasons and great in post season.

We need to surround Dak with more than Noah brown and Peyton hendershot - a dollar store Jerry special .
When you take up 25% of the teams salary cap, you dont get pro bowl players at every position. Thats exactly the problem, Dak needs everything perfect to win. Top 5 Oline.. Top 5 rushing attack... two #1 WRs... A top 5 TE... Hard to get all that when your average QB takes up a 1/4 of the cap. In those situations, you have players like #85 playing in crucial downs and games.

Listen

We only have one course of action- surround him with talent because his contract precludes a deal .

This is our leader like it or not .

I misunderstood youre post my bad. I am in agreement with above post and we do have some whiny arses in here. I have been beat down by jerry so i have adjusted my expectations.Im not a super bowl or bust fan I enjoyed this season.
No problem, pal. We all are disappointed and for good reason. But we had a great year if you take out the emotion of losing. Like I said. McCarthy and Dak have taken us one step closer each year. Now if we can keep Quinn and get Dak a real coach that can help him read defenses. I expect a SB next season. Now if it doesn't happen next season I'll be angry. But we took another step forward this season. And that was with Dak gone for 5 games. I'm still mad and pissed but looking at it realistically. We never should of even made the playoffs to begin with. But we did and got a win. Next year we kick in the door-take names - take the FRIGGIN trophy.

Shouldn't an NFL quarterback be able to read defenses by year 8?

We have to agree to disagree on the Diggs point. Yes, I was disappointed the defense could make a couple of plays to help the offense, but this was the best defensive performance in the divisional round our team has had in a looong time.

I was expecting a shootout actually so I was more disappointed in the offense. Notice I said offense, not just Dak.
I'm not down on Diggs at all. I have his jersey-not bought by me. I'm not buying crap to help old Skelector out. My point being was that Dak wasn't the only one who screwed up. That game basically came down to 5 plays. Dallas didn't make those 5 plays. 49ers only had 3. They made there's and got the win.

No, they have known. But mainstream media can't just say those things outright until the player completely proves it right. They have been "saying" it for a while now but it was always in very subtle, veiled comments up until now.
I think them and most of our fans are seeing the light too. Their are still some Dak believers out there though.

Precisely. So why keep beating a dead horse on either. Because neither one is going anywhere. That's why I saaid it. Dak sucked Sunday. But so did Diggs. Dak sucked on 3 throws. He makes the one throw to TY we win. Even with the int's. Diggs make 2 plays. We win. Whose the guy who blew the coverage on Kittle on that circus catch. No way you going to tell me Quinn was dumb enough to cover him with a defensive tackle. So this is just 3 examples with different people had they done their jobs! We win. Yet I don't hear nobody saying get rid of Diggs and Quinn. The tight end not getting his feet down for the 1st to keep the final drive going. Let's get rid of Schwartz also...
So, we are back to absolving Dak of blame for the horrible throws / decisions he makes? Let's blame the defense that gave up 19 points?

Those plays by Diggs were embarrassing, but so was the throw that the LB should have taken to the house, the throw to Gallup, the throws to RB's in the flat that they have to stop to catch or contort their body and lose any forward momentum.

The QB by far makes the most money, and has the biggest impact on the game. He is a fair target for fans that need to vent their frustrations.

Facts. That's why I'm not mad at the loss. 49ers defenders made the plays and ours did not catch the INTs in addition to other things.

Wash, rinse and repeat with the Jones in charge.

You mad Dak got money????He was one of 4 quarterbacks that played bad on the weekend. It happens. He played great the week before. We can act like he's the worse ever to play the position or go out and get him a coach whisperer. I'm pissed at Dak also. But I know he's the best shot we have to get to a SB as of now. If somebody can come in here and clean up his pre reads-we have something. For me this is the only hope we Cowboy fans have as of this thread posting. You could have Carso Wentz.

leading the #1 offense most of year should dictate to you he can read defenses. Now if you want to say he comes up small in playoffs id agree. Weve had that issue since 96

You calling me gutless? Because Dak choked in the biggest game of his career and I am calling him out for it? Wow.
Look at the issues he's talking bout. You mocking his gf or his facial expressions? If you are then yes he's calling you out.

Daks been getting crap since he came into the league and some of the stuff has nothing to do with football. It's Texas, and there are people who don't like him for reasons that have nothing to do with football.
