Why is nobody lamenting the failure to run the ball?

Rushing Yards: 76
Without Dak runs: 54

Rushing Avg: 3.4
Avg without Dak runs: 3.0

Pollard Avg: 3.7
1 run for 10 yards
5 runs for 12 yards (2.4 avg)

Zeke: 2.6 avg

Because those of us who pay attention knew this was coming. Without Pollard, Zeke is hot garbage and there is no running game. This is also due to their refusal to use Malik Davis.
Pollard was hitting a brick wall also.

5 runs for 12 yards plus 1 run for 10.

Pollard wad 7 for 19 in game 17.
- 9 for 19 in game 16.

The excuse given by coaches after the game 17 debacle with regards to the run game was that the DL was shifting just before the snap...

Did you expect them to run after pollard got hurt? It's Moore calling plays remember.

They had 22 runs for the game they probably end the game with around 30 runs. Niners ended with 35 for a 3.5 clip.

I lament our failure *at* running the ball, but not the failure *to* run the ball.

Run blocking dropped off when Steele went down and we shuffled. And once Pollard went out, the upside of running went out with him.

Your comment points toward maybe running *Dak* more. Might have helped with his befuddlement.

It was not working before he got injured.

The run numbers were never going to be "Great" against that run D, but use misdirection involve more people in the run game... we simply lined up and tried to push that SF Dline back..not a good plan.

The running game has been pretty ordinary for the last few games. I really think losing Steele killed the running game. But also Pollard is the kind of back who will run 5 times for 15 yards, then break a few longer runs to wind up averaging 5 or 6 yards. Just the threat of getting him the ball helps the offense.

They only rushed for 64 vs the Commodes in game 17 and star ST Jonathan Allen did play that game.
