Dak's stock has taken a hit this year. It would be a good time for Cowboys to call his Agent about an extension, highlighting the fact that to make Dak a star again it will take a significant investment in the talent around him. Offer a couple of years similar to what Brady got in Tampa so they can reassign some of that 2023 salary and defer it's cap cost as a signing bonus.

His selfish team restricting 4 year contract is a major reason this team was hamstrung in the cap.

Prescott refused to give more years in the last contract so the team could at least absorb and keep players and weapons to get you passed the divisional round.

He did this so he could get a second bite at the Apple. Bravo Dak. Thanks!

Would Amari Cooper been around still? Would they have gone after other free agents?

Be a man Dak! You could not get to the Super Bowl with your arm and interceptions.

Sign a 7 year extension give the team some room to help you because you need it.
How about the top 5 qbs in contracts who didn't make the playoffs. How about the ones in the top 8 qb money who hasnt been to the playoffs 4 of 6 years when healthy? How about Allen how much did he make to not get passed the 2nd round the last 2 seasons? should they all give money back as if that would ever happen?

How about the other players along the OL , rb, and skill players who didn't pay well and caused this loss, should they pay money back?

are they all selfish?

apparently, you think so.. even if its a delusional take on sports who many individuals make ridiculous amounts of money and are part of teams who don't win consistently?

Just Dak huh?

Lastly, many fans want dak gone but realize Hes here at least 2 more years to make it easier to cut or trade him with NT clause etc Many of them do not want dak to sign an extension to lower cap number as it puts years on his deal.

also complaining about seasons that have been successful as if there no talent on the team because of dak, also a bit of an exaggeration. you all act as if we have struggled to win 7 game seasons here..the responses after b2b 12 win seasons with playoffs and a 2nd round playoff berth type run we are on, is insane.

somehow after cutting a bunch of players some were starters including this Amari guy you speak of, we were better than last year. it means we are improving in the MM era.

How was he selfish? He and his agent were negotiating with the biggest blinker in the NFL and every agent and player knows this. He's supposed to leave money on the table? Who does this?

His agent got everything that Prescott wanted, no tag, no trade, guaranteed money and a short-term contract in the ever-increasing QB contracts of the NFL.
NOT Lamar LOL he been offered more than dak and said nope not enough and the ravens have added how many weapons around LJ while he was on his rookie deal? as of now Daks deal around 8 is no longer as much of an albatross as fans are making it. someone like DW got 250mil all guaranteed and has done less in his career then Dak. which BTW has made the next qbs up wanting that deal as LJ is making clear.

if Daks not the guy why put years on his deal? just curious as much of the posts around here want him but today even if that just insanity now soem are on the extension tour?

with Schultz and zekes deal wiped off , cap goes up etc im sure the FO can work around daks deal. Tanks played great but his deal is also pretty big cap hit this year.. that will be an interesting story to follow, hes important but very expensive.

Alien here are the replies you will be getting:
1. don't worry about another man's money
2. it was jerry's fault
3. cooper sucked
4. dumb thread
5. get all you can dak, screw the team

I think I covered it.
Stupid thread. Dak earned the contract. Someone was going to give him that money. Top 10 quarterback under the age of 30 at the time of signing.
You are a damn Prophet

You can blame Dak for his lack of skill and talent.

You have to blame Jerry for giving him that contract though.
JJ caved under all the pressure from football experts, fans, players when he signed Dakota "WENTZ 2.0" Prescot and now that we all know that signing WENTZ 2.0 has turned into a suicide mission for this organization, everyone now is in agreement that WENTZ 2.0 is a one trick pony and isn't going to lead this team or any other team to a SB.

So you want Dak's contract longer? To be honest him holding on 4 years may actually save us if he needs to be replaced. Even if you restructure once you try and move on future years on the contract come due in %'s. He will have to restructure this offseason, if you dont like him you dont want this at all but if it is done you want the minimul amount pushed and the team to take the biggest hit they can stand and still fill the holes...just fyi

I'm sure if Dak were here he'd say he got nothing in his first 4 years. But he was drafted in the 4th round for a reason. Sure he overperformed his draft spot but he hasn't played like a first round pick, but he was sure paid like one.
He got paid handsomely in endorsements . . . Which is a perk of wearing the Star . . . Pretty prophetic that His big campaign this year revolved around Him throwing an Interception to a Housewife . . . Pretty Ironic . . . Don't you think?

$49M and $52M cap hit the next two years. He's the guy until there is an alternative. Of course the extension would have to come at considerably less than he is making now and it would just make it easier to trade him if the two party's agree.

I'm sure if Dak were here he'd say
I hear you fellas . . . You are Right . . . There are No Excuses . . . We as a team need to get better . . I am working on things . . . I promise to not let this happen again .

Depending on how its written, you would need to shove tons of that to furture years in bonuses because base salaries will come into play even in a trade. NOW if you restructure trade and then he restructures with the other team...you may have something.. thats a ton of IF's though.
