Starting over doesn’t mean it won’t be Maher.
The dude had a great year and never struggled until the refs messed with his holder right before the playoff game. He hit his final kicks vs SF. Unless someone beats him out, it’s silly to just cast him aside.

Now this was a wise move. You cannot trust Brett Maher, after his meltdown in the playoffs. If you did, you'd have that as a distraction on your mind the whole game. His meltdown already changed the outcome against the 9ers. Had he been on the money, like the regular season, there's a good chance they win that game.

I still feel bad for Maher. Great season, those awesome 60+ yard field goals… and then his career is just absolutely obliterated over the course of a few minutes.

His career has to be over, right? Who else is going to sign the guy that missed 4 easy field goals in the playoffs?

I feel bad for him but he knew this was coming. You see video of him after Tampa and his eyes told you the story. He looked like he had the thousand yard stare.

And if Adam V has 1 bad Super Bowl game, the Patriots are 1 title short of what they have now. You have a job, do it. Not to mention "bad" doesn't even begin to describe how awful that game was. Maher's confidence is out the window and you can't have that with a kicker.

That they are. That said, I'm going to look for some Japanese X-League kickers and see if I can find some more.

So let me get this straight: Maher had 1 bad game and Jerry is done with him in spite of the fact Maher, for 2023, went 29 of 32 for FG's (to include 15 of 18 beyond 40 yards).....yet Dak just led the league in INT's in spite of missing 5 games....yet Dak will get an extension?????

Congrats Jerry, you are officially a f-ing idiot.

Maher is a free agent and the smart move for him would be to give Jerry & Co. the finger and go sign elsewhere....along with other Dallas free agents as Dallas is the Titanic being steered by Jerry & Dak.
