Did Diggs start contract negotiations with his matador play

His "business" decisions when it came to tackling people felt like he didn't want to get hurt and lessen his value. That whiff on kittle was the icing on the cake, but there were plays towards the end of the year where he just missed tackles on purpose. There was a tackle on Rachad White during the Tampa game where it looked like White juked him but on closer examination, he just didnt want to get dirty.

Quick trade him before Booger lets it leak that they've soured on him.

Diggs is a top 3 corner in the NFL

we can't keep talking about his tackling yes it needs to improve but hes a corner they arent know for being the best at that

and if contract talks start with his tackling instead of him shutting down opposing WR1's then we're on the wrong track

I donk think Diggs is the only Cowguy who gets extended this offseason.

Last year, 4 WRs taken in the 2019 draft all simultaneously put their teams on notice once their third years ended. Terry Mclaurin, Deebo Samuel, DK Metcalf all got similar monster extensions, and AJ Brown finagled his way out of Tennessee to end up with a larger AAV deal than the other three. Justin Jefferson’s and CeeDee Lamb’s agents are going to be giving their clients 10-point projector pitches on why they need to get a timeshare on Zeke’s Cabo condo this summer.

I'd trade him after that, I dont need him taking on pulling guards on sweeps, I do need him to hit a reciever who is in the act of catching a ball. That was horrible and some of his team mates may not be real fond of that play.

Pueblo Bonito is that resort. I went last year, real nice place.

He's another guy signaling loud and clear that he should be traded for picks while his value is still high rather than give him a big bag and have him grind to a halt as a player in a few years like Zeke.

Diggs, when he’s not taking chances and jumping routes, is a good cover corner but I don’t see him as a top 3. And if I’m the Cowboys I’m talking to the Rams about Ramsey. No way he’s back in LA next year.

Top 3? Not even close he might be top 10 maybe

I wouldn't be surprised at all if Diggs name gets brought up in trade discussions this offseason. Really tough to do as he is almost the only starting NFL caliber CB we have on the roster currently. Tough to resign him though when in the next two years you have to think about Him, Lamb, Dak, Parsons all getting either record setting or top 3 deals at their positions. I get the sense that one of those four wont be on the roster in 2025. Moving Diggs now may save you $25M per while getting you a 2nd first round draft pick. I'm not moving him for cheap, but if someone offered me a mid first plus a 3rd next year it would be extremely tempting.

He definitely was a less willing tackler this season. I don't know if he was told to do that by the coaches or he made the decision himself.

I was down on him after that play, or non play. Right now so much that I would question his heart to play hard and will continue to make business decision hits, after getting a big payday.

That is how I feel now. Maybe come TC time I will think differently.

He was 100% holding out for his next contract before the season even ended. You can not control an entire team when individuals are allowed to do whatever they want and get a massive payday early as a reward. Diggs is a fantastic talent but he is not a winning football player IMHO. When he had 10 INTs I was defending him hard. A guy with 3 picks needs to show up ready to play in the playoffs. He was pathetic.

Just put in a tackle clause in his contract that he must make an effort otherwise it'll cost him $15k per intentional missed tackle

I wonder if he was told not to get hurt. He was really the only cornerback that had experience. He has always avoided contact, but to me, it seemed he was told not to be aggressive. He also had that hand injury a couple of weeks prior that may have played a part.

That’s a play you have to make. Could have picked or knocked it down easily. If he ended the season like the season before with all those picks then I am paying him big money but he went by this season was like he rested on last years performance. He had chances to make plays he didn’t make. He wants a pay day. If he played like this this season imagine after he gets paid. If he wants to much the best thing is to let him go play with his brother that will push him. If we could sign his brother here then it would be the greatest thing ever for this team.
