He misjudge the angle on the play mistakes happen. He get more money making that play and going to the superbowl. This board way over thinks things and too many people are trying to find obscure points to make threads. Everyone has a "unique" take.

The he misjudged about 150 tackles this year, because that play was not the first time he thought he was playing 2 hand touch football

His "business" decisions when it came to tackling people felt like he didn't want to get hurt and lessen his value. That whiff on kittle was the icing on the cake, but there were plays towards the end of the year where he just missed tackles on purpose. There was a tackle on Rachad White during the Tampa game where it looked like White juked him but on closer examination, he just didnt want to get dirty.
Yes, I mentioned this in a different thread. It's his way of saying he wants an extension.

I wonder if he was told not to get hurt. He was really the only cornerback that had experience. He has always avoided contact, but to me, it seemed he was told not to be aggressive. He also had that hand injury a couple of weeks prior that may have played a part.
Yeah a lot of debate about that late in the year, but in the biggest game of the season with the biggest play of the game with Kittle bobbling the ball be does not even touch him an completely whiffs, at least throw an arm or hand in there.

he whiff a lot this year that tells me he is gonna take his buss over his team don't need that kinda of player. your right pulling guards and full backs he doesn't need to throw his body in there but in the 49niners that buss. decision showed up mighty quick an a lot

It's very simple if you want to win a super bowl guys like that have to go because after that play on kittle you know winning a super bowl means nothing to him.

Trade him now while he is at peak value and stockpile draft picks because after Jerry gives him a Kings ransom his play will drop anchor and all he will do is protect himself like all the other ones we've seen.

I'd trade him after that, I dont need him taking on pulling guards on sweeps, I do need him to hit a reciever who is in the act of catching a ball. That was horrible and some of his team mates may not be real fond of that play.
......maybe Micah needs to tweet about that. Seriously, Diggs is needed on this team, but a talk or too about tackling needs to be discussed. Certainly seen by teammates during film sessions. And obviously the love on this board is swinging on the down side. Opponents on the offense know his unwillingness to get grass stains on uniform too.

I've been pointing out that play as a reason we should not resign him. I think a lot of guys can wrack up INTs as Diggs has when they are tested all game b/c teams know they give up yards. But aside from all of that, he is still under contract. If we are not going to maximize the cap advantages of rookie contracts, then we are ceding the teams that do a huge advantage.

This is not a Dieon Sanders or Darelle Revis type of CB. Teams are not afraid of Diggs. Sure they would rather go after the rookie from Fresno State, but thats not the same as respect. We should consider trading him if he's going to hold out for a new contract.

Diggs is a top 3 corner in the NFL

we can't keep talking about his tackling yes it needs to improve but hes a corner they arent know for being the best at that

and if contract talks start with his tackling instead of him shutting down opposing WR1's then we're on the wrong track
Top 3...in the NFC East.

Don't get me wrong, he's a very good player.

My fav moment is i think he was one of the guys fighting over the interception at the end of a game Hail Mary.

Oh common, its beyond obvious he took a dive to avoid contact and this was not the first time this year he did it. Diggs cares about one thing: the 100M+ deal that awaits him.

That’s who the is and will be even more so when he has us over a barrel once he gets a huge contract
This is the time to trade him

That’s a play you have to make. Could have picked or knocked it down easily. If he ended the season like the season before with all those picks then I am paying him big money but he went by this season was like he rested on last years performance. He had chances to make plays he didn’t make. He wants a pay day. If he played like this this season imagine after he gets paid. If he wants to much the best thing is to let him go play with his brother that will push him. If we could sign his brother here then it would be the greatest thing ever for this team.
Worst thing would be to bring his brother here and give them more if a voice in the locker room

We need to get rid of Diggs not bring his brother here

I agree. Sign him now, or trade him now. Don't wait until his contract runs out and we get nothing. After what we saw, I'd trade him for as much as we can get. And he "was" one of my favorite players. But it's clear he couldn't care less about winning. That may be the case, but don't let that show on the field, in a divisional playoff game. Go on social media and act the female hound there. Like most other players do. Or just sit out the game if you're not going to play. A lack of effort crosses the line.

Actually the only thing that irritated me is at the beginning of the season he would always go for the strip and guys would get an extra 5 yards. But after the first few games he changed. He's fine.

He is the furthest thing from fine my friend. I get trying to strip the ball, but dude played like #54 for most of the season. If his unwillingness to avoid tacklets wasn't so blatant many wouldn't be so hard on him.

He's top 5 in this league easily, y'all are crazy. There would be a dropoff in this defense if Diggs were to get traded
We can disagree on the ranking. But I never said they should trade him or that there wouldn't be a drop-off without him on the squad.
