Can Dallas afford game day 47 a punt / kickoff guy who did make a pro bowl I guess but adds no reps in the receiver room whatsoever . And if Schottenheimer is going to be the brains behind the run game I assume Big Mac is the one who either includes Turpin in the offense or goes KM and has Turpin with a nice salary and the best ticket of any fan as a spectator .

I recall no deep routes for # 9 what so ever this year. Tavon Austin would at least flash every now and then that WR speed.

The 2 SB coaches especially Reid I can’t conceive of Reid not drawing up plays for a Turpin on the back of an Arbys napkin . Let’s get some classroom sessions in the off season Mr Mike .

Didn't he play like 2 seasons worth of football this last year? He'll be ok once he let's his body rest.
This gets swept under the rug but it’s an important thing to keep in mind. This dude already played a full season with another league got a couple months off and was back in training camp for an nfl team.

I think it’s very possible we see a better Turpin year 2 between him being more experienced and better rested alone.

I am still baffled by Turpin's selection to the pro-bowl. I assume there was no one else to pick.

He does have potential but he has to stop running into the kickers. Still, he takes up a rosters spot and with Goodwin and Joseph I wonder if having 3 special teams players makes sense. I know Goodwin and Joseph are also DBs but it seems like they would only play in a dire emergency.

The Lenny/JG/Moore systems don’t play anyone else beside the top 3 unless for injury…….

He is a good returner. Made a few mistakes this year but he is basically a rookie. NFL speed is a lot different than college or the USFL. We got lucky he was available to sign this year because our only other real options were Pollard at kickoff return and Lamb on punt returns. No need to risk those guys getting hurt on special teams. Pollard did average 28.8 yards per kickoff in 2021 compared to 25.5 yards per kickoff for Turpin in 2022. Lamb had 9.9 yards per return on punts in 2021 compared to Turpin's 10.0 yards per return in 2022.

Like you, I am not sure how he got the Pro Bowl nod other than the kickoff return has for the most part been removed from the game with the new rules.

Certainly was good in the Pro Bowl Flag Football game. Not sure how that translates to wearing pads and playing in the NFL..

Does Marty's boy know how to design plays that utilize the strengths of the players?

If yes, then yes Turpin can succeed. If no, "he is set in his ways and this is what we do", then no he and the Cowboys won't succeed.

I’d love to utilize him more but he also was a little sloppy in the return game so maybe there was a little bit of a trust issue. I’d like to see if we could clean that up Yr 2

Depends on some other roster situations.

Will they keep a FB now?

If they draft two RB, and/or insist on keeping Zeke until those #21 jerseys sell out, and keep four TB?

Will they still go four deep at TE?

Going an extra man deep on OL is a nice idea.

If too many of those items are a ‘yes,’ then I’d say Turpin needs to make it as at least WR5 in order to stick.

He is fast, and fun, and only flubbed two balls all season as a rookie, but he is sort of a novelty, and possibly a luxury considering most KO are touchbacks.

One of our rookie RB can handle kick returns if need be.

We need to utilize his speed and design some routes that can get him open...of course if he's triple covered he stands a better chance of seeing a pass thrown his way. Just ask TY.
Not really hard to do, they just didn't want to!
