Stephen: We'll probably use the franchise tag again this year

Why is he on the radio instead of on the phone with Pollards agent?

Sound like they are proud of themselves for how Schultz was handled, so tag it is for Pollard.

Isn’t free agent week during the annual Jones Family Spring Break Vacation. Tag Pollard and negotiate with him after fun in the sun.

Curious….how many other NFL GMs feel the need to announce their thoughts and intentions on the upcoming season to everyone else?

I just don’t understand why these two can’t realize that this may be part of the problem since no other organization works this way.

They may, but we don't see or hear it. Go to other teams sites and see if there are any links to such news items.
Most, probably over 90%, at least only listen or read about their own team. That is 90% that come on to forums or the team sites, local sports.

Just as those on here are a small % of all the fans. Many don't watch intently at this time of the year or all summer. They wait until the games start. And draw conclusions based on what they hear on the radio during their commutes, and from opinions at the water cooler or coffee machines.
Then they repeat what could be false info or worse.

I have a few friends that will text me 2 weeks or longer about something and have the facts completely wrong. As if the news just came out.

Stephen just doesnt learn or doesnt care. Has he not realized that letting the entire league know what your plans are isnt how a franchise is run?

Did he not learn this when he got bent over in the Zeke negotiations because he said "Gurleys contract is the floor" for negotiations? Or how about letting everyone know Cooper was going to be released if not traded?

My God. These 2 imbeciles are so arrogant they just speak without any thought of consequence. And why wouldnt they? They dont answer to anyone.

Was always the most likely outcome using it on pollard regardless of anyones stance
I would rather just sign him because it’s cheaper in relation to the cap
But he’s one of our only two real playmskets
The same folks saying it’s stupid to keep him would be bashing Jerry if he let him walk lol

If applicable, I would place a right of first refusal on LVE and a first or second round tender on Wilson (this would get a 2nd or 3rd in return if someone signed him, respectively). Its really hard to tell what these guys market value is compared to the value they bring to the current defensive strategy.

The same could be said for Pollard. What's his street value after the injury?
