3/5- These 25 are off the board. Who’s your pick?

I don’t see any way it falls like this. But if it did, I would probably have about 3 or 4 guys that I would consider at 26:

Mayer, Kincaid, Forbes, Schmitz, Addison… any of them would help Dallas and be day 1 starters. The decision would likely be made easier by what had already happened in free agency.

But I don’t see any way Washington goes before Mayer and Kincaid. And Hyatt before Addison? I doubt it… highly doubt it.

Schmitz
Starts at LG day 1 so McG can walk and starts OC next year so Tyler B can walk and we draft another OG next year
That is very enticing. I was hoping to get him in the 2nd but his stock just kept on rising through the year.

That dude is really a good player. I’d love to come out of this draft with him.
I can't believe he ran a 4.46 40. I guess there was never really any need for him to show it because our D-backs at Illinois were so well-coached and had the talent to play tight. Sydney Brown is an absolute stud at S too. He can play FS but I'm thinking the team that grabs him might have him more as a SS/FS hybrid depending on cover scheme.

Speaking of Sydney Brown, his brother Chase will be a Swiss army knife for some team. I'd love to get him in the third to take Pollard's place next season when he leaves.

This is hard. It's gotta be Addison/Flowers or someone in the trenches, as that seems to be BPA.

Flowers is so good after the catch. Despite height, his vertical gives him a slightly larger catch radius. He's a bit faster. His ability to adjust to poorly thrown balls behind him, short or high, seems sooooo ideal for this team.
His profile stated he has some issues with drops. Can he be productive on the outside too?

Addison is a bit taller. Def has a more ideal size for outside, but with a slight frame. Very smooth runner. Great route runner, on a instance and smooth with it. Not as a good a RAC compared to Zay. Not as good as an adjuster to the bad throw as Zay.

I think Zay really helps Dak with his play style and skill set. But will he be able to play on the outside?
I think Addison is the safer pick?

I will, for the sake of being a contrarian, go with Zay Flowers.

Schmitz

I think he will be Travis Frederick level good.
I think we need to upgrade offensive skill positions though. And Gibbs would actually do that.

without knowing what we did in FA, give me Addison. Not sure he can be a #1 receiver but I think he can be a top tier #2.

I’m going with Keion White. I think he’s going criminally underrated on this board. 285 pound men shouldn’t be able to move the way he does. Creates pressure from inside and out.

somewhat surprised to not see gibbs on your list

Yep, if Alabama or Georgia had 3 guys as good as Witherspoon, Brown and Martin, it would still be mildly surprising. But for U of Illinois to have those 3 guys is mind blowing.

Witherspoon might be my favorite CB prospect in the last several years. He is, IMO, fantastic in every way… especially mentally. He is a born corner. But Brown and Martin are really good in their own right. Martin in particular.

It is crazy to see 3 guys like that from the same secondary. Whoever their secondary coach is… he is one heck of a coach.

I would go Schmitz. They likely go highest rated WR or TE on the board.

Yeah, I could’ve put Gibbs on there because I really do like him. I just hate striking up the “never take a RB in the first round” conversation in every thread, lol.
I assumed it was either that, spears bias, or just assuming they’re going to do the unthinkable with the guys we have

I do like Spears, and a few other backs that could be had outside of round 1… but both Gibbs and Robinson are that much better than them that I wouldn’t hate it if the team took either at 26.

However, I think Schmitz and Spears is probably a better duo than Gibbs and any IOL that they might draft later. In other words, there will be better backs available in the 3rd and 4th rounds than interior offensive linemen.

So I certainly understand not wanting a back in the first. I just think Gibbs/Pollard/Davis would be one hell of a RB room and Solari and Schottenheimer would be able to make a really good running game with them. So I wouldn’t freak out about Gibbs. I could get excited about that, for sure.
