His Illini teammate Quan Martin is almost as good as Witherspoon and we can get him in the 3rd most likely.I second this

That dude is really a good player. I’d love to come out of this draft with him.His Illini teammate Quan Martin is almost as good as Witherspoon and we can get him in the 3rd most likely.
That is very enticing. I was hoping to get him in the 2nd but his stock just kept on rising through the year.Schmitz
Starts at LG day 1 so McG can walk and starts OC next year so Tyler B can walk and we draft another OG next year
I can't believe he ran a 4.46 40. I guess there was never really any need for him to show it because our D-backs at Illinois were so well-coached and had the talent to play tight. Sydney Brown is an absolute stud at S too. He can play FS but I'm thinking the team that grabs him might have him more as a SS/FS hybrid depending on cover scheme. That dude is really a good player. I think he will be Travis Frederick level good.Schmitz

somewhat surprised to not see gibbs on your listI don’t see any way it falls like this. But if it did, I would probably have about 3 or 4 guys that I would consider at 26:
Mayer, Kincaid, Forbes, Schmitz, Addison… any of them would help Dallas and be day 1 starters. The decision would likely be made easier by what had already happened in free agency.
But I don’t see any way Washington goes before Mayer and Kincaid. And Hyatt before Addison? I doubt it… highly doubt it.
Yep, if Alabama or Georgia had 3 guys as good as Witherspoon, Brown and Martin, it would still be mildly surprising. But for U of Illinois to have those 3 guys is mind blowing.I can't believe he ran a 4.46 40. Speaking of Sydney Brown, his brother Chase will be a Swiss army knife for some team. I'd love to get him in the third to take Pollard's place next season when he leaves.
Yeah, I could’ve put Gibbs on there because I really do like him. I just hate striking up the “never take a RB in the first round” conversation in every thread, lol.somewhat surprised to not see gibbs on your list
I assumed it was either that, spears bias, or just assuming they’re going to do the unthinkable with the guys we haveYeah, I could’ve put Gibbs on there because I really do like him. I just hate striking up the “never take a RB in the first round” conversation in every thread, lol.
I do like Spears, and a few other backs that could be had outside of round 1… but both Gibbs and Robinson are that much better than them that I wouldn’t hate it if the team took either at 26.I assumed it was either that, spears bias, or just assuming they’re going to do the unthinkable with the guys we have

BPA at this slot.Michael Mayer...
i love that thought process. forget players though, gun to your head do you want defehse or offense at 26 ?I do like Spears, and a few other backs that could be had outside of round 1… but both Gibbs and Robinson are that much better than them that I wouldn’t hate it if the team took either at 26.
However, I think Schmitz and Spears is probably a better duo than Gibbs and any IOL that they might draft later. In other words, there will be better backs available in the 3rd and 4th rounds than interior offensive linemen.
So I certainly understand not wanting a back in the first. I just think Gibbs/Pollard/Davis would be one hell of a RB room and Solari and Schottenheimer would be able to make a really good running game with them. So I wouldn’t freak out about Gibbs. I could get excited about that, for sure.
