He was the featured back in the playoff game before getting injured. You could see the coaches were phasing out zeke
He was on pace for 12 total carries before he went down with injury in that game. Do you believe he’ll get 350+ touches this year (as 10+m$ feature backs are expected to do) when he’s never had even 200 carries in a season? What if he misses 1-3 games before being back from injury? Will he be 100% the moment he’s back, or will his recovery be closer to Gallup’s?

11m$ salary is hard to justify for a rotational RB

The disrespect for TP is wild. Him and Ceedee were the only consistent weapons last season.
Has nothing to do with Pollard. Those opposed (like me) don’t believe in paying big money to a position that is absolutely the easiest position in football to fill.

Just maybe, some of those complaints are valid?

28 years plus with zero Championships says there’s plenty of room for criticism.

I think that’s dismissive to what could be valid criticism.
Some of it is I agree. But every little thing is just annoying on both ends at this point and doesn't change a thing

You do when you coach says the emphasis will be the run game. You can say go cheap they can do what Pollard does. But can they? They can do what Elliot does. Can they give you 800 and 12tds? Can they lead the nfl in ypc. Can 2 rookie rbs give you 24 tds that Elliot and pollard gave you?

in a draft with so many capable running backs this money would have been better spent elsewhere.

I think the Cowboys have until July 5th? to work out a long term deal. My sense if that they don't get one done before the draft they will simply draft his replacement and rescind the tag. They cannot go into next season paying that much for a back who has yet to prove he can shoulder the load for a season. That's a 10 million dollar gamble I would not take. Maybe a rework with Zeke simplifies things for them. But no matter what they do we know they need more than one back. The question is how much are they going to spend on the position.

They can do that please explain

Listen, tons of stuff to kill these bums over and I do not want to give another long term deal to a running back but I can’t kick and scream over this until I see if there are follow up moves in the draft. This easily could be a place holder move.

I understand the lack of faith with cap boy and daddy but I’m just not as angry about this move yet until it ends up in a pan extension. As mentioned previously it could be a one year bridge deal.

If you get him 4-5 targets in the passing game and 14-16 touches in run game it can work out
CMC is a guy used to his strength. They don’t pound him between the tackles 20 times a game. He avg 14 touches in run game and 6 targets in passing game. Pollard should be used the same way. I’d even use a bunch of the same routes with him
I’d like to see him used in the passing game a little more.

They need to draft one early and late this year for sure.

I bet they still do draft a RB. You typically need more than 1, plus while many are capable it doesn't mean they are all ready to be every down backs. Most RBs coming out of the draft struggle in the pass game, and typically take a year or two to develop.

They won’t rescind the tag imo. I think they draft a replacement use the drafted back and pollard. I’m not convinced zeke will be back regardless of what Jerry says

when he's healthy and we have no clue if he will be.
There's a lot of things we have no clue about

But is this particular injury known to be difficult to overcome? I don't recall it being that way

So just lose 11mil for nothing? Pay cut, draft another rb as well, and just release him in 2024 without all the dead money theatrics. Of course there will be dead money but very minimal.

How come you guys aren't worried bout jerrys money when it comes to dead money. But are all in his money business when he signs somebody. Atleast you have a player, not just dead money with no player to show for it. And still have to spend more to replace him.

And people call Jerry incompetent.

I'll take Elliot at 7mil. It is what it is.
This babbling makes clear that you have no idea what you’re talking about.

I don’t think any of it is absolute, certainly not from me. I’ll give them credit when I feel they’ve done well and criticize when I feel it’s warranted, like now.
