You're not wrong but I have a feeling that as these edge rushers get faster and lighter in the arse the ability to run off tackle is going to make a come back and with it so will the running game's role in winning football. Hell the Eagles and 49ers run the hell outta the rock and I think most of us would agree those are both pretty smartly run teams. They just don't bang it up the middle as much as Kellen Moore used to like to do. There is more to running the ball than just calling random running plays. Hopefully McCarthy will have a better sense for that than did Moore.

It would be a perfect time to double dip at the position and remake the RB room with a one year TP insurance policy. 2023 could be something like Pollard as the feature back with say a day two pick like C. Brown or I. Abanikanda and then a late pick like D. Vaughn, and M. Davis still in the mix. You'd be free of RB contracts by 2024 and a stable of fresh legs in the RB room. All of this would of course be predicated on the release of Zeke and not signing TP to another contract.

I think we could certainly draft one. Rookie running backs have done well for years and years.

And the guy we’re tagging was a fourth round pick himself.

Running back is now a meat grinder position. Chew em up and spit em out. The harsh reality. But don’t pay them big money. It’s a fungible position, easily replaced.

So just lose 11mil for nothing? Pay cut, draft another rb as well, and just release him in 2024 without all the dead money theatrics. Of course there will be dead money but very minimal.

How come you guys aren't worried bout jerrys money when it comes to dead money. But are all in his money business when he signs somebody. Atleast you have a player, not just dead money with no player to show for it. And still have to spend more to replace him.

MM will be putting the ball more in the hands of the RBs, esp during passing downs.

Had to keep TP he was the only Playmaker besides CeeDee, and at $10M is a good deal for what he can do with a OC that can get most out of his talent. This move was a given, so I'm just waiting to see what happens with Zeke. Zeke's agent knows his market post combine, so news could come at anytime.

D. Vaughn would be a great pick up. He has the speed you need to be effective as a runner and pass catching back. I think he will be a sleeper pick in this draft.

I think the Cowboys have until July 5th? to work out a long term deal. My sense if that they don't get one done before the draft they will simply draft his replacement and rescind the tag. They cannot go into next season paying that much for a back who has yet to prove he can shoulder the load for a season. That's a 10 million dollar gamble I would not take. Maybe a rework with Zeke simplifies things for them. But no matter what they do we know they need more than one back. The question is how much are they going to spend on the position.

Yesterday out of the blue was reported Dallas didn't meet with Bijan at the combine, I think this is why. Meet the others yes because they're later round guys and you'll be drafting one of them. Meeting with Robinson probably would've put some thoughts in pollards head.
