Well according to this writer anyway.
I posted this as I did not know about Zeke's contract. I never seen it posted in any of the many off-season threads about his contract.

If Zeke does not take a pay cut, the team can simply restructure without him agreeing to it. It would save $7.3 million on the cap.
I know many want him gone, for various reasons. But thought I would put this out there for a different perspective. I know, just kicking the can down the road. But it is an option.

I think it might be wise for Zeke to, at least, agree to cutting his pay in half or more to avoid some of the negativity involving him. If he's the "team guy" that this FO would like to convince its fans to think he is, he should be more than willing to agree to it. Even at that, he'd be getting a very good deal. Would that satisfy all of his detractors? Certainly not, but it might serve to alleviate some of the negativity to a more reasonable extent, though.

It’s an option the writer says if the Cowboys want to keep. I don’t think they want to keep him. We will find out soon enough.

It's been discussed. You just missed it.

A restructure is idiotic because that $7.3 million gets shoved into future years, making his future cap hits higher and makes it tougher to cut him.

The Cowboys clearly don't want to have him on the roster at his current cap hit given his role, age, etc. So why the hell would they kick more money into the future when he's going to be more worn down, older, etc?

Just saying what the article stated. As I mentioned, yes kicking it down the road.

Whatever they do they do, I have no say so. Take the cap hit, draft a RB, then they are drafting for need however. But they have done that before. As Pollard is not that guy, nor Davis.
But if that is what they need to do, then do it. They have until what, next Wednesday to figure it out?

I am what is best for the team. Zeke is not the biggest problem though.

Zeke, at his current cap hit, is a big problem.

And the Cowboys could compound it by doing something dumb like a restructure.

But we can pay Pollard 10 million on the tag, and he has a trashed leg?

I think Zeke on a pay cut would be good for the team. He can get you the hardest 1 yard consistently. 3rd and 1, 4th and 1, goal to go. And is a great blocker.

Zeke is 28 soon.

And his leg isn’t trashed like Pollards.

I was talking more about needing talent on the field. As I still feel part was the scheme and play calling, injuries. however, I know what you mean. Cap wise is is a problem.

Zeke 28 soon. Not old yet

He’s a power back and the rotation takes the load off him.

He makes a lot of first downs and he scores a lot of TDs

With the freakish leg injury to Pollard, Dallas needs Zeke.

stupid

u churn rb

u invest heavy in ol and u churn late round udfa rb

u run them into the ground and when it time for them to get paid u say bye and plug in another cheap rb

that is how u do it in a salary cap
