Elliot is a 10.8million cap hit if we keep him and if we release him now it would be an 11.8 dead cap hit. So releasing Elliot does not help with signing a players this year. I say keep Elliot one more season

Let's be fair, no.1 the contracts are signed knowing this possibility 2) he's been paid 3) his 'hold out' as he feared he wasn't going yo get paid and resulting in the Dak/France playing hard ball means we have no 'loyalty' to him 4) he's just not worth the CAP hit and Jerry will be castigated if he keeps his guy.

Hurting the team by playing hurt because you don't want to be outshined by the better RB (Pollard) is not something to be admired for, in my opinion.

Pollard shined anytime Zeke was in street clothes.

I have been a Zeke fan since college. Wanted and was glad when the Cowboys drafted him in 2016.
I said then as I've been saying about potential Hall of Fame players drafted by the Cowboys - they'll make their destination if the Cowboys culture doesn't ruin them.
In my opinion, the culture ruined Zeke before his time.
After the unjust suspension, he was never the same back.
He was overused and, I think, the cupcake culture did him in.
I think if he had been drafted by the Ravens (who wanted him and wanted to trade with Dallas but Jerry Jones and dem chickened out) or the Steelers, he'd be still chasing the Hall.
But he's washed up and has little left.
He'll find another spot as a complementary back, but his 1,000 yards rushing days are likely over.
I see the Chargers, the Bills, the Ravens and the Dolphins as retirement destinations for Zeke.
So long, Zeke. Somewhere, at a distant training camp, trash cans wait for you to elude them.

I'd be surprised if Zeke got another deal that was above league minimum. He simply can't run anymore. He was in our lineup for 3 years too long. Definition of progress stopper especially with that albatross of an idiotic contract.

Pittsburgh, well they had Le'von Bell and I remember he wanted a new long term contract, refused to sign the franchise tag and sat out the year and Pittsburgh said we're moving on. so he lost I believe was ten million salary at the time and then hasn't come close to the back or money he thought he was worth and has bounced around playing for five teams afterwards....

Zeke should have been made to play out his rookie contract, franchise him for a year and then move on like I mentioned but nope, He played the hold out game, with a year left on his rookie deal and Jerry caved and now the Cowboys are stuck with a bunch of dead money on a declining back...So Pittsburgh played it right and Jerry didn't...Stop making excuses for why Zeke isn't any good, he's been a declining player since his rookie season...

Because he had the balls to do it....if you want to blame someone, blame the coaches and trainers that allowed him to play. A real player wants to play, it's up to the staff to decide who plays.

When Dak is released, we will be here for you, to talk you off the ledge.
