Outside of Hankins, he are some of the DT's still in the market

-Matt Ioannidis. Incredibly strong 1T, played 70% of Carolina last year. Was a productive pass rusher up until 2019, but really fell off after.

-A'shawn Robinson. Probably the best run stuffer right now. Played almost 60% of the snaps last season for LA

-Aikeem Hicks. Probably more of a name at this point. He did however play 55% of TB's snaps

- Shelby Harris. Would be more of a Carlos Watkins upgrade than a 1T. He is a guy I see as a sneaky good signing. Can play both 3T and 4i
Is Robinson that good, or did he benefit from playing next to Aaron Donald?

Robinson would be a great signing, but I just think he is going to get more than we are willing to pay and more than he is worth. If we could get him for $5M per or less I'm in. But I think he gets a more than that and while better, I don't think he is a ton better than Hankins who worked out well here.

With that many still out there available. And fans will have the ones they prefer, or will most be ok with any of them. As long as they sign one of them. Will they be happy?
Also with that many, it could mean they can take their time, maybe even wait until after the draft. As no other teams seem to be in a hurry to sign any of them.

Pass rushing DT's have ruined peoples ideas of what a DT should be.

Is there any restricted free agent DT’s out there worth tendering a contract?

1 tech. Osa is a good 3
Yep he has shown the most promise of the group.

They rotate that position constantly, as every team does, but I suspect that’s why they wont use top draft capital or cap space on it.

It makes sense logically, but is still what ends up hurting us at some point.

This is taking on the feel of throwing bodies at the position and seeing what sticks.

Not a super year to supplement via draft either. Most will probably have Bresee as the highest rated true DT and I saw enough of his high-pad level play last year to say, “no thank you” at the big boy level. If drafting, Roy or Benton maybe in the 3rd-4th round range.

Would like to see our 17th ranking in YPC given-up be a little better but not holding my breath on this one.

What is it that we need?

A 1-tech or a 3-tech that can actually play?
Both. We need a 1-tech who can clog the middle against the run and a 3-tech who can consistently get pressure. I think Odighizuwa is a nice rotational player, but he's not a Grady Jarrett or Warren Sapp, etc., that is constantly causing disruption in the backfield. We've been getting by on defense without that guy for years. And it's a testament to Quinn that his defense was able to do as well as it did without him. Imagine if we'd have had Hargrave and his 11-sack presence in the middle.

Osa is an OK 3-tech. Our standards have lowered because we haven't seen what a 3-tech in this defense is supposed to do. It's a catalyst position that blows up running plays and passing plays with constant disruption up the middle. The defense feeds off it. Instead, we rely on Micah to do those things because we don't have that kind of 3-tech.

Don't worry we'll get around to DT but first we had to take care of bigger priorities like backup QB and backup RB.

I don’t think we’ve seen the best of OSA yet. It’s year 3…this might be the time we see it. I’m willing to see what he looks like with another year and a one tech all season.

Youll get Isaac Alacarn and like it lol. I joke but i think they have done a great job this FA season. I couldnt be happier knowing financial restriction and what we have aquired.
So far they have done better than any offseason in the last 10 years or so but its NOT a great one. We have been starved for so long that a quick burger or two feels like a feast

What's the hold up with Big Hank?
The LVE siging is trash if they don't get a quality NT.

Been reported by Broaddus that Hankins is slow playing signing with a team and not interested in signing right now. If that's the case I would take a more aggressive approach trying to sign Robinson.

Front office needs to create as much flexibility as possible while going into the draft and not coddling guys who's unsure of committing to playing ball.
