We have a QB that’s good and better than most teams have. Sometimes you have to settle for a good QB that’s giving you a chance until something better comes along. It’s not going to be easy finding a better QB than Dak. The Cowboys may select a QB in this draft. There’s always a chance you could get lucky. No one who knows football is calling Jalen Hurts an average QB. He was in the MVP race and led his team to the Super Bowl. If you want to know what an average QB is go look at what they have with the Jets, Panthers, Washington and several other teams.
It's not going to be easy to replace a QB that we have a winning record when he doesn't play?

He's not a difference maker and guys that aren't difference makers are replaceable.

Here's the deal, and it isn't complicated. Our defense has to step up. We're not winning a championship on our offense. We can't score on good defenses so our defense is going to have to make up the difference. Sort of like when Cooper Rush won those games. Our defense was playing off the charts.
While I agree with pretty much everything here it's still not fair to how the defense did step up against the 49ers. The defense tried their best to make up the difference as you stated here.

So the standard for defensive expectation and post season success is attempting to build a historic defense and not just a good one.

All in the name of carrying a limited QB who chokes in big games.

I mean, I guess if Dilfer in 2000 and Brad Johnson in 2002 are the examples, then it's remotely possible.
I don't think either of those QB salaries at the time was milking the team cap.
And while good, I don't think this current dee has reached the level of those 2 dee's yet either.

But all in all, it's bout the best we got though, with this QB.

I mean common Todd your client Dak is entering the season without a deal?
Where's the Beef Todd????
Todd you failed as hopes are very low that Dak will be able to verify the big bucks (40Mill) you asked for this coming season unless he has a stellar season. Your commissions will be minimal as mattress commercials aren't breaking the bank.
And Todd if your thinking Tag time....FORGET IT not even Jerry is paying 35 million to tag Dak.

If I was Dak I would have fired Todd 2 months ago.....
This was September 1st 2019!!

From all the off-season moves so far I feel that a Dak extension is a long shot at best.
They have enough now for 1 move decent FA and the new Draft pool unless I missed something here.
Prove it (Please Finally) or lose it season coming up for Mr.Prescott.
Prescott will choke again this coming season and Dak will blame the new system. McCarthy will be fired and Dak will be extended. Dallas needs to draft a QB and I don't mean a 5th round dart throw. Get some dam pedigree in there that has a brain that doesn't short circuit when he has 3 sec to throw. Dak is panic attack waiting to happen and I'm sick of him and his fan base.

Recouping some picks for him doesn’t guarantee we’re going to find a better QB. We can’t move on from him until we do. By the way Aaron Rodgers hasn’t officially been traded yet.
If you wanna use "Guatantee" when discussing "Hypotheticals" it shows you are a difficult person . . . 4 #1 draft picks in 2 years would have provided us with the ammunition to acquire a QB . . . "Guaranteed" no but "More Then Likely"

You sound like an Abused Wife . . . (Same old Story for the last 5 years . . . So Sad and Pathetic)

Dak is being given every opportunity to succeed, however, as with Zeke the clock is ticking and excuses are being checked off the list.

I was fed up with Romo myself but at least he took the blame for things.
Ha! You've got to be kidding? When??? Romo would always say stuff like, "We've got to do better! We've got to clean up our mistakes!" It was always "We", never "I".

Dak is actually the one who always takes the blame. Always. Totally the opposite of Romo.

I agree here. I just think the supporting cast needed to win a championship with this QB is close to unattainable. Especially when you consider how our front office handles the offseason.

It's going to happen at some point anyway. Dak can't play forever. We'll be stuck without a decent QB. No one is going to be happy when that happens. How long should we kick the can down the road?

I remember Romo In those press conferences hanging his head saying it was his fault after one of those game sealing ints he threw and saying HE needs to get better. DAK is the one who almost always says the WE need to get better. But putting blame aside Dak is maxed out talent wise. He just doesn't the brain and physical talent to take the Cowboys any further. Romo couldn't do it either. The guys were seeing that are performing in the big games are all first round pedigree. Heck even Hurts hung 35 points on the Chiefs and he isn't as good as Burrows or Josh Allen. Dak plays the Chiefs and leads the team to 9 freaking points. What a joke that keeps playing itself over and over again.

The problem is that good QB your talking about turns into a pumpkin against better teams. He is not playing anything like what got him there. It's one thing to lose to a better team but it's another thing when your supposedly good QB doesn't even show up and the guy playing QB looks like a bottom of the league 25th ranked player at his position.

You don't think I thought of that as I was typing out my post? That's why I said in a later post that I didn't think a supporting cast good enough is attainable.

Either our offenses is going to have to break through one of these years, or the defense is going to have to be historic. I don't think the latter will happen, so we'll have to hope what failed twice finally breaks through. But I'll put my hope on it, not money.
