RB is a lot of abuse to the body, and the more you're ground down, the more the next hit damages you.

He's made 81.5mil from NFL salary and lots more from endorsement deals. If he manages to squeeze even 10% more of that out of his remaining years, I'll be surprised.

I hope his friends are telling him to just move on.

My guess is that if he'd taken a pay cut, he'd still be a Cowboy. He thought he was worth more than he really is, so refused and got cut thinking every team wanted him. Reality will set in soon and he'll realize nobody wants him at the pay he thinks he's worth.

I don't think any team would refer to it as a short-yardage specialist, but teams have had goal-line and short-yardage backs before. They don't only get carries in those situations since they are used to provide the starter with rest, but they are brought in primarily to have success with those goal-line and short-yardage situations.

Can you name one in the NFL today? A RB who gets used almost exclusively in short yardage situations who isn't used in special teams?

I'm saying it's not a thing in today's NFL.

It's not just star players that get offers. There a slew of RB's that share time or provide depth as the #2 or #3 RB. Elliott isn't the player he once was or that the Cowboys now need, but he isn't the bottom RB in the NFL either.

He's really not even close. There are plenty of 2nd and 3rd team RB's that are easily lesser quality. Not being starter level anymore doesn't mean he's the same level as a guy hanging onto a roster position by a thread

Zeke's last 50 carries 100 yards, 2.0 YPC

Out of all the running backs last year with 150 carries, Zeke was 89th...He's bottom

Reportedly the Jets are not interested as they say it was a case of Zeke having an interest in the Jets and not the other way around. Philly supposedly is not interested so that leaves on the Bengals of Zeke's supposed list.

Zeke is now a short-yardage, pass-blocking type FB and most teams do not want that type of player. Having said that, the Bengals have had OL problems so Zeke would help protect Burrows.

So, you cherry picked a few games at the end of last season to represent his entire season and make that out to be worse than guys that never even get off the bench.

Over the season he averaged 3.8 yards per carry and he scored 12 TD's, and yes, that is better than guys that aren't ever deemed worthy of seeing the field at all, and that never have a team game plan for them.

If Zeke struggles to get signed it will be because he is asking too much, or expects too much playing time for a guy at his current level, not because he isn't better than a bottom of the roster player who gets a few token carries a year while playing special teams.
