It's going to be very hard to replace Margot Robbie, but...Lady Gaga? Maybe, but I don't have my hopes up.
Lady Gaga isn't really replacing Margot Robbie. This is the Elseworlds universe. The person they cast as HQ in the DCU is who will replace Robbie and that is if they do recast the role.

Marvel's Fantastic Four Reboot Has Made A Big Behind-The-Scenes Change With Some Avatar Talent

By Adam Holmes | CinemaBlend
March 31, 2023

Ever since the film rights to the Fantastic Four and X-Men were transferred to Marvel Studios following Disney’s acquiring Fox, Marvel Cinematic Universe have been waiting for both teams to be introduced to the superhero franchise. While plans for the X-Men are still being kept secret, the MCU’s Fantastic Four reboot is nicely slotted in the Phase 6 lineup. However, there’s been a behind-the-scenes shakeup, with some talent from Avatar coming aboard to help put this project together.

Josh Friedman, who helped create the stories for Avatar: The Way of Water and the upcoming Avatar 3, and is also working on the Avatar 4 and 5 screenplays, has signed on as Fantastic Four’s new writer. He replaces Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer (who were hired last September), and THR noted that Friedman’s recruitment “signals a potential change in tone.” While Kaplan and Springer are chiefly known for comedy, Friedman is well-versed in sci-fi, because along with the Avatar sequels, his credits include movies like Steven Spielberg’s War of the Worlds, Terminator: Dark Fate and next year’s Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, and TV shows like Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles and Foundation, the latter of which is retuning for a second season and can be streamed with an Apple TV+ subscription.

Here's Why Ash Isn't in Evil Dead Rise, According to Filmmaker Lee Cronin

By Cheryl Eddy | Gizmodo
March 31, 2023

A new chapter in the Evil Dead series is nearly here, with Lee Cronin’s Evil Dead Rise shifting the demonic shenanigans from the deep, dark forest to a Los Angeles high-rise. The writer-director has spoken before about why Rise goes in a new direction, but in a new interview he gives more details about the decision.

Speaking to Collider, Cronin (The Hole in the Ground) explained that while he’s a confirmed Evil Dead fan, joining the franchise wasn’t something he found “overwhelming.” Instead, he said, “I was kind of excited, but I also knew what I wanted and what the guys wanted was to do something that was a little bit of departure, a little bit of a new direction. That actually brought a certain freedom. It was kind of liberating. Had I been telling a story in the cabin in the woods with Ash, I would have been absolutely terrified. But when I had the creative freedom to tell a story that I was interested in, I was at peace. It’s my favorite script I’ve ever written, my favorite screenplay. It was so much fun to write.”

Stephanie Phillips on the Love Story of Rogue and Gambit

By Robyn Belt | Marvel
March 31, 2023

<snip>
Ahead of issue #2, on sale April 5, we spoke to writer Stephanie Phillips about her favorite Rogue and Gambit stories, the origin of the series, plus what readers can expect from later in the run.

What do you think it is about Rogue and Gambit? Why are they so fun to follow and root for?

STEPHANIE PHILLIPS:
They feel so REAL to me. They aren't perfect but the imperfections are what make them an honest and relatable couple. Perfect is boring and Rogue and Gambit are anything but perfect and boring. They're a super hero couple that have been through so much—they've been heroes, villains, and something in-between. They will save the world together and then go out for gumbo on date night. On more than one occasion, one of them has literally died and come back to life... and also, they have pet cats. The juxtaposition between the completely normal elements of their life as a couple and then the fantastical elements of their “work” lives makes them fun to write and easy to love.

Secret Invasion Revealed: Inside Samuel L. Jackson’s Eye-Opening New Marvel Series

By Anthony Breznican | Vanity Fair
March 31, 2023

Who are you, really? That question is at the core of the new Marvel series Secret Invasion, which follows Samuel L. Jackson’s spymaster, Nick Fury, as he uncovers a conspiracy to quietly install double agents into positions of power around the world. In a traditional espionage story, these might be operatives from hostile rival nations, but in the Marvel Cinematic Universe the infiltration has an otherworldly origin: shape-shifting green-skinned extraterrestrials known as Skrulls, who can perfectly simulate any human being at will. Figuring out who is who becomes especially daunting.

“We don’t know who’s a friend, who’s the enemy,” Jackson tells Vanity Fair for this exclusive deep dive into the upcoming series. “There’s a political aspect that kind of fits into where we are right now: Who’s okay? Who’s not? What happens when people get afraid and don’t understand other people? You can’t tell who’s innocent and who’s guilty in this particular instance.”

<snip>

The conflict is not just geopolitical, it’s personal. One Skrull radical, Emilia Clarke’s G’iah (pronounced “Guy-ah”), has issues with Talos that go far deeper than most. While this is the Game of Thrones actor’s first appearance in a Marvel Studios project, her character has actually appeared before.

What happens when you combine Lovecraftian monsters, demonic rituals, rotten fathers and Batman? You get Batman: The Doom That Came to Gotham, the latest DC Universe animated film. Based on the critically acclaimed Elseworlds limited series, this story reimagines Batman as an explorer who fights monsters in the 1920s. Like most alternate continuity tales, some familiar faces show up, but each character has their own unique spin.

Think of this film as “what if Batman had been written by H.P. Lovecraft?” But before I go any further, I need to warn everyone that there are spoilers ahead. The film is currently available as a digital download and on Blu-ray, so I would suggest checking it out before you read any further. There are some very big surprises in this film, which we need to address—especially that ending!

One of the great things about Batman Elseworlds stories is that they can break all the rules. In a regular continuity tale, most of the pieces have to be put back together again when the story is done. While occasionally there are status quo changes in the main continuity, for the most part Batman and his core characters remain intact. In Elseworlds tales, though, nobody is safe and these characters can have endings. But remember, not all endings mean death.

NEW HISTORICAL FICTION ACTION COMIC DEAD ROMANS RUSHED BACK TO PRINT

By Image Comics
March 30, 2023

<snip>

"Working on Dead Romans with Nick and Allison has been an amazing experience," said Kennedy. "To see it being so well received is a great feeling. And if they liked the first issue, they're in for a wild ride as the series continues..."

Marinkovich added: "We started Dead Romans very simply over drinks and a shared enthusiasm for the possibilities. To see the end result catch the eye of so many readers, so quickly....We're smiling..."

In Dead Romans, lush, beautiful illustrations bring to life a brutal tale of love and war from the birth of the Roman Empire. Arminius, a Germanic prince raised in Rome, has sworn vengeance against the Empire that butchers his people. He wants to make a queen of the woman he loves, Honoria, a fellow slave. Now, fifty thousand Romans will die to give her a throne she never asked for…or wanted.

By Dark Horse Comics
March 30, 2023

<snip>

It’s hard out there for a supervillain. Not the world conquerors, chaos engines, or arch-nemeses...but the little guys, the career criminals. The ones who put on uniforms, knock over jewelry stores, and get tied to telephone poles before the hero swings off to face the actual big bad. Times are tough for costumed crooks, and they’re about to get much worse. The psychotic Stickman has done the unthinkable and murdered Kid Dusk, sidekick to Twilight City’s premier crime-fighter, The Insomniac. The Insomniac’s teammates, The Continuum, are tearing Twilight apart, turning it into a terrifying police state--desperate to capture the Stickman and stop the Insomniac from “crossing that final line” in which he may never come back from. Caught in the middle are the small-time c-list villains, finding it impossible to pull jobs or even walk down the street without being harassed by these heroes. With a bounty on the Stickman’s head, former villain Playtime decides to put together a ragtag team of equally disgruntled supervillains to take down the Stickman and kill him themselves, leading her on a dark journey into the criminal underbelly she’s tried so hard to escape.

By Marvel
March 9, 2023

Marvel Studios’ animated anthology streaming series What If…? flips the script on the Marvel Cinematic Universe, reimagining famous events from the films in unexpected ways and creating a multiverse of infinite possibilities. Those possibilities continue to expand in the second season, as Marvel Studios introduces new stories, and new Super Heroes, to the MCU. We are excited to share a look at one of those new characters: the all-new Marvel Super Hero Kahhori.

What If…? asks what would happen if the Tesseract fell to Earth and landed in the sovereign Haudenosaunee Confederacy before the colonization of America.

This looks interesting, and they didn't even need to appropriate an established character to generate something new and interesting. I would absolutely go to see a movie based on this concept.
