Don't draft RB in the 1st? What about LBer?

2018 was a pretty good year to take a 1st rd linebacker, the top 4 have productive careers thus far. Other years look like very poor investments at the position.

The position has lots of injuries, as it should.......they do more hitting/tackling than any other position.

Parsons is essentially an Edge player.
True, but fans were also very split on taking Parsons in the 1st round as he was a linebacker coming out of school. Very fair to argue that he should go on the list as coming out he was not though of as a pass rusher, and had the Cowboys believed in a no LB in the 1st logic he would not have been taken at all. Of course you're also only going to see a Micah Parsons situation arise once or twice a decade.

Me I was not split. The 2 guys I wanted most were Surtain and Parsons. And Surtain was actually choice 1. But you are correct. I thought Parsons would be an elite MLB. Never imagined that he possessed the skills to be an elite pass rusher. For me, the only LB I would consider taking in round 1 would be Drew Sanders. I think he‘s just scratching the surface of how good he could be.

I’d take Sanders at 26 because I think he’s pretty unique. Has the size / length to take over for LVE eventually to clog lanes in zone and also brings pass rush in year 1.

Would take Campbell or Simpson in round 2.

Would take Henley in round 3.

I agree. Sanders is the only "LB" I would take round 1, but it's really due to his potential pass rushing abilities from the off ball spot.
IMO there's no traditional LB worthy of round 1. I think someone like Campbell would go in the top half of round 2.

I like them all.

Based off who they’re meeting with Is guess they’re more looking at WILL type guys to take over for Barr while LVE stays in the middle.

IMO, LB is kind of like TE. Teams bet on athletic freaks early because those guys are the only real difference makers, so you'll see people reach for like a Noah Fant or Kenneth Murray.

I'd take Jack Campbell round 1 this year, cause he's such a clean evaluation. He falls into that "zero chance he'll suck" zone, and the upside is rookie-year LVE.

Sanders is a round 2 guy for me. Love how he packed the stat sheet in his first year starting. But I really wish we could have got some measurables for him... a lot of his evaluation is betting on him being a DE-esque explosive athlete, and I'd like to confirm that. There are buckets of dudes I love in this draft class, and it's hard to put Sanders in the 1st round above them without testing numbers.

Haven't really watched anyone else, tbh.

Am I right in saying they have shown no interest in Sanders to this point?
