2022 receiving yards by receivers (teams) aligned out wide

I thought the same thing at first, until I looked at Dalton Schultz's 2022 stats. Only 577 yards receiving compared to 808 in 2021. If anything, this shows how depleted this receiving crew was in 2022 compared to previous years, and it showed during the better Defenses, including against the 49ers in the playoffs.

True, but I'm willing to bet Kellen Moore had more passing routes schemed to hit outside of the hashes compared to inside.

Dalton missed 5 games
 
This shows in part that the receivers they had last year couldn't get open enough for Dak's liking on the outside. But we knew that, this just confirms and exposes that truth. Cd was much more effective inside than as an outside receiver. Gallup wasn't his old self and they tried running him on shorter routes to compensate. The coaches also refused to use Turpin or TY much on the outside even though TY came up clutch with a big catch and no one else was doing any damage out there. It's never 1 persons fault but i doubt they were this bad before this last year. CD in the slot was probably the most effective receiver they had last year, pretty much the only thing most defenses couldn't stop.

That’s not really relevant
It’s not where pass was caught but where reciever who caught it was aligned
Slot guy, TE and RB are generally not lined up outside but do catch passes outside the hash marks fairly often but would factor in this ranking

Weird that Philly is #2.


I would bet a good hunk of those are from smoke screens to the Wrs as they ran a ton of them.

That shows32 things
1. Lamb isnt a good wideout, he is better in the slot.
2. all the teams at top had at least 1 really good wideout, tyrek hill, chase, jefferson, diggs,brown, lockett, most had a better qb than dak.
3. KM wasnt calling a lot of plays to wideout on the outside, and if not called, the qb isnt going to go there. Also for the ones called, most were misses.

The one play I remember was the one ty caught that helped win a game, is it coincidence that it was ty?
Dak isnt that good at throwing go routes or deep passes, so that could be why KM wasnt calling them.
 
Best WRs paired with Best QBs are at the top of the list, not too surprising yet telling.

Concerning the Cowboys, newly acquired Cooks former team is low on the list as well. Do the Cowboys have an overload at Slot with CeeDee n Cooks?

Cowboys need an X, but I don't trust the draft pool for that spot.
