Gibbs rumor train heating up

Two different guys as well. Gibbs is way faster and hits the edge better than Pollard. Gibbs is also a much better receiver than Pollard and can be a legit 800+ yard receiver for you.

Pollard is more patient at hitting the holes and up the middle.
Yah, not in agreement. Pollard was more of a receiver in college. Cowboys just dont use him enough that way. havent seen many that hits the edge better than Pollard. I agree that Pollard is a better runner up the middle.

They are not exactly the same, but too similar.

I would rarely take a back in the first, but it would have to be a great all around back like Bijon, not a finesse back like Gibbs.

True for all backs. But regardless this draft is full of talented backs.

And thats also why you should wait till rounds 2-4. Backs have a high bust rate.
Understood. But the NFL is all about matchups, and Gibbs is one of the better ones

Big Pollard fan. But Gibbs is electric. I guess some of us see it and some of us don’t. We’ll see on draft night.
Electric player, poor value, limited all around running up the middle and pass blocking, similar skills to Pollard.

They want to pound the ball and establish the run game again.
Modern offenses are less about 3 yds and a cloud of dust, and more about isolating players through scheme and matchups. Gibbs is matchup player.

I’m pretty confident there will be a premium position player available that will make way more sense.
Man i definitely am not. I think the whole group of DTs stink, not sold on any WR outside Flowers in the first…TEs are meh……maybe DE McDonald?

Cowboys want to establish the running game again and pound the rock. Gibbs is the opposite of what they would be looking for. Gibbs skillset is very similar to Pollard. There are other speed backs like Achane you can get in the 2nd round if a finesse back is really what you like.

This is one of the best TE's drafts in years. Two guys in the top 20 prospects. Just an FYI

McDonald would be great.

There are 6 1st round DEs and only 3 have gone before pick 26 in the last 3 years.

I’d be happy with one of the top WRs, but even if you wouldn’t be, maybe an OT or one of the top CB falls.

I never said Pollard could or that I want him too. I prefer Pollard splitting the load. The bell cow RB is borderline non existent in todays NFL.

Emmits playing weight was also almost 25 pounds heavier…
Lol, emmitt was never 225. Don’t make crap up. Always played between 200-210. He was drafted at 200

Why are similar skill sets is such a negative when the skills are so dynamic. One of those similar players had a YPC of 5.2 and +1300 yards last year as a part time back with low usage early. These guys are unique because they have high level multi position flex.

Keep them on the field together as much as possible, give them 35ish total touches combined and you can create big mismatches, expand the field, and give them space where their skills really shine. And probably improve Dak’s performance to boot.

RB early is not my preference either but I’m open minded enough to see the possibilities.

Don’t see the need for an OT and unless Porter falls…I’m not crazy about the other CBs in 1.
We are kinda stocked at DE too. Drafting anyone at DE means they will sit behind Tank and probably Sam/Parsons.
These reasons plus the lack of offensive playmakers are why I’m not opposed to Robinson or Gibbs in one.

An OT could likely play LG in year 1 and keep you from paying Steele a ton.

Disagree on CBs - there’s a handful of studs I’d take at 26.

DE joins the pass rush rotation year 1 and gets us out of Tanks contract.

Hi highlights are electric. My question is if there really is a large difference between him and someone like Deuce Vaughn? Sure Vaughn is a munchkin but would their stats be pretty similar if you put him on Alabama this year?
Seems like a strange post, but It's a very valid question.

I don't put too much meaning into it, but Bama played K-State in Sugar Bowl:
The Deuce Vaughn...22 carries...133 yards
The "One" Gibbs...15 carries...76 yards

Gibbs sure did compensate as receiver: 2 catches for 66 yards.

For value 2 > 1. Deuce, seriously could be a better choice.
