Eagles major problem for years

why is everything here about praising the eagles?

fans have been crying for a DT in the first and get one then cry about the eagles getting one
It’s more about the eagles GM that wheels and deals and puts his team in the best position to excel while our dinosaur rests on his laurels.

the very fact that this was the first time we’ve picked a 1st rd DT in 30 years is telling. Jerrys been doing crap the same way for over a quarter century and expecting different results

Having said that, I’m pleased that we selected a DT on day one……but let’s not compare it to the day the Eagles had. Both events don’t have to be mutually exclusive

Everyone said that last year. Davis and Dean did nothing for them, which is why they say they did due diligence this year. Smith will be a good situational pass rusher, but he won’t stand up vs NFL DEs in the run game. That’s why he dropped. Carter may be an excellent tackle, but I doubt he will be any better than Cox has been, probably less in the pass game. They got two very good players, but neither one is going to shine the way Parsons did his first year.
Dean didn't but they panicked when they lost Davis and signed two DT immediately cause their run D suffered without him. They also had tremendous DLine depth last year that they could bring him in slowly. They are evidently sky high on him but he's never gonna have stats. NTs never do but their run D suffered without him.
I'd love to have Davis but we got Smith and hopefully he can be the run stopper we so desperately need.

cowboys are still far and away the 2nd best team in the division. idk why you boys are so glummy. yeah your last sb appearance was 30 years ago but living the 05 and 22 sb losses is worse! the NFL wanted mahomes to have a dynasty, even cowboys fans on here would agree the blatant BS penalties on the bengals and eaglles were total crap, a la saints 2018 vs rams.

@MarcusRock will have to have a go at you for this blasphemy, lol

The Eagles are worse today than last year. Downgraded at safety, linebacker, cb, oline. They got Carter but he just replaces Hargraves. Lost both coordinators. MANY key contributors were old last year and now older -- Graham, Johnson, Kelce, Cox.

Perhaps....but no longer far and away

every players get older by 1 year, fool.

An NFC East Rival is a major problem for years?

NO WAY!

If you look back at the record against them the last few years you will realize we are a major problem for them as well.

Their defence overall seems to be pretty close to the 2022 level.

I would say the Eagles are better this year on the defensive line. I would take Carter over Hargrave any day of the week… but I’m a Georgia guy,… yeah, they lost those two grizzled veteran DTs, But I wouldn’t be surprised if they pick them up again. At DE everyone’s coming back… Including Barnett.

At linebacker I like Dean in year two over either of the guys last year. ... Nolan Smith across from Hassan Reddick is scary…I wanted the cowboys to draft Nolan Smith… It was hard watching the end of the first round ..So yeah I’ll take their 23 linebackers over 22 as well.

At corner, it’s the same guys.. hopefully slay loses a step.. but again I wouldn’t count on it. I guess you could say that their corners couldn’t possibly play any better than they did last year… so that’s something.

At safety, yeah, they lost CJG, but at this point last year he was with the Saints. It would not surprise me at all, if they trade for Budda in the next few days. They’re currently 19 million under the cap l, and are 40 million under the cap for 24… So they can afford it. I’m not sure how friendly the Eagles and Cardinals are right now though lol.

Maybe one or all of those four older guys you mentioned go off a cliff…who knows… they were all elite last year..

I think we can forget about the Eagles taking a step back… Anything is possible I guess though. It’s up to us to raise our game. I didn’t love Mazi Smith, where we took him at least… But I love the fact that we finally took a DT in the first round.

Perennial 2nd round exits is better than winning a superbowl and then being in another one? Are you joking? We should be happy about being 2nd best in the division?

I wouldn't be surprised if they get Baker or Henry while we're watching from the sidelines, grabbing some cut player off of another team's scrap heap and expecting him to plug in huge holes at the RB and O line position.

Not sure why I keep hyping myself up when it's clear the 2nd round is our ceiling. I already know that FA will be nearly nonexistent this year.

Nah......

A fluke injury here, a domestic disturbance there......

And the Cowboys are right back in it.

How many times has a team looked unbeatable on paper only to fall apart as the season progresses?

It happens.....

When you get 2 defensive players like they just did, hard to argue
This is what a good GM and HC get's ya. Eagles will be flying high for years to come. It's hard to beat a team that doesn't appear to have any weaknesses.......................

Trade terms, per source:

Eagles get: RB D’Andre Swift and 7th round pick (No. 249)

Lions get: a fourth-round pick in 2025, and seventh-round pick (No. 219).

Bump lol. They are so aggressive. It’s over they will
Dominate nfc for 4-5 years minimum. WHY ARE TEAMS TRADING AND HEKPING THEm!!!!!!!!! STOP
