News: PFT: Cowboys "likely" to add a kicker before training camp

His leg needs to explode along with his nerves of steel on any surface or weather!

Just sign Crosby and hope for the best
Crosby saw a significant decline on his kickoff abilities last year 60.7 avg, 20% touchbacks. To compare Maher had a 65 avg and 78% touchbacks.

Might explain why he’s still available.

The Cowboys didn’t sign Maher until Aug. 9 last year after their kicking competition never got off the ground. It is same time, this year, as they continue the search for a reliable option at the position.
The panic over this kicker issue is way to premature. See what they did last year? No need to rush just get who you think will be the best.

Heck we have some or many of the usuals already panicking (more like usual negativity) about what May happen in the playoffs before TC even started yet. :lmao:

Yeah, I know man, it's so funny when people actually learn from history. I mean, how stupid do you have to be to pay attention to past behaviors in order to predict future problems? The nerve...

Oh no doubt about it Crosby has declined. But he was drafted by Mike, is a vet and would benefit from kicking in Dallas compared to Green Bay.

Also a guy like Gould wouldn’t be an option. So it will be an unknown USFL guy likely.

IMO, they bring back Maher before camp.

I’d agree. Maher feels like a classic cowboy move where they wait on the price to go down and bring him back

How much of a contract can he command after his missed extra point extravaganza?
Minimum contract allowed is all he gonna get at this point.

When it comes to sports anything can happen. So it is only stupid to cry wolf so early before the season even starts. It is a new year. Move forward.

He would be a good choice to bring back. They would be fine with the 2 kickers in camp and if one of them doesn't win it, then bring in another guy.
