I like Johnson’s straight line sped. But let’s be honest. Nobody will make the 53 being signed now as I feel guys like Cropper and Durden will take the final spot
That final WR spot is gonna go to who is smart enough to realize that spot is about ST
Brown made a nice career out of being a ST guy

You mean this scouting report?

Silky smooth athlete who has morphed into a monster over the last two seasons. Tolbert is a high-character prospect with skill elements that are dripping with NFL potential. He gave work to everyone he faced, including SEC cover corners at Tennessee. His three-sport background offers unique perspective to pull from at his position, and his route-running gives him a leg up in camp battles early on. His traits, talent and production should push him up the board, and dialing up the competitive spirit could turn him into a top-flight WR2.

Strengths
  • Put together big games against the best opponents.
  • Right at home against SEC cornerbacks (SEE: Tennessee game).
  • Stellar 2021 production, including seven games of 100-plus yards.
  • Shimmies feet and shakes press jam.
  • Fights through grabby coverage.
  • Routes are gliding and smooth.
  • Stick-shift route runner with excellent change of speeds.
  • Powerful pre-break burst fools the coverage.
  • Sinks hips for quick, sharp turns.
  • High school baseball player with natural tracking talent.
  • Frames up his defender and imposes his will on the high-point.
His baseball backing will be extremely useful catching one hop ground balls from 4

Harry was a major bust. In four seasons he’s only put up 64 catches for 714 yards and 5 TDs. That amounts to a decent season. Can’t possibly see him making the team.
I do agree.

But he has been on some teams that seem like run first teams.

He has been banged up the previous few years and was on mostly run oriented teams.

I’m not saying he can turn it around and be elite, but he can definitely be your Noah Brown type.

Absolutely. You pretty much are going into it with 4, possibly 5 locks (Lamb, Gallup, Cooks, Tolbert, Turpin). I believe Cropper or Durden make the 53 and beating out Simi.

Interesting how we can’t seem to get enough WR’s but are short on RB’s.

Hard to judge Harry... he didnt have much at the QB position during his stay in Billy Land.

how many RBs would you expect them to have? Pollard, Deuce Jones... people are over looking Jones, the guy is clearly a serviceable back.

Simi seems to be coming out strong.

And lets not sleep on the rook Brooks.

Yes, he ran a poor 40 at the combine. But he did run a 4.53 at his pro day. He has long arms and good size. Hard worker. Smart. Very good character.

Durden is interesting as well. Similar in size to Brooks but a little faster. But went undrafted.

Cropper and Turpin are the same players. Only need one of them.

And Houston has a year under his belt.

I’d expect more than 2. Especially with one a 6th round pick. And the starter who hasn’t carried the entire load coming off an injury. I’m glad you don’t have any concerns. .

Brooks is a great practice squad candidate. He will benefit from a year or two learning the game. I watched him at SC but he is very very raw and had limited production.

Simi will likely get one more year because he’s still cheap and can fly.

The question is there will be 3-4 guys for one-two spots. Who will they able to sneak on the PS

Brooks may end up on the PS.

But that WR5 spot either goes to a guy who can play STs or someone you keep that you think can be at least a WR2 in the future.

I don't think Simi plays STs. Not sure about Tolbert. WR4 could come down to one or the other of those two with WR5 being somone that can play on the coverage units. Brooks has done that in college. Durden could possibly do it as well.

I have ZERO concerns. The starter coming off an injury that is already completely healed... just listen to him. Pollard said he is now faster than before....lol
Malik Davis looked good when he played last year.
Ronald Jones is a decent vet that is young
Deuce... im reading he is heading to the HOF after OTAs.

They have another on the roster... but who do you possibly want to bring in that would HELP the RBs be better? Unless you are bringing in Derrick Henry or Dalvin Cook what is the point? Dont you remember?? RBs are a dime a dozen.. just draft one on the 4th rd and you are good to go.

Interesting:

His ability to find separation down the field and find an opening in the defense is what stands out the most though, since 2019, no other receiver in FBS had more catches of 15 or more yards than Tolbert. He was able to record 77 which was most among FBS wideouts.
Tolbert is a silky smooth athlete with the ability to create at all three levels with easy separation skills. He is a fluid route-runner showing good movement skills at the top of his routes to separate late, or early off the line with quality release skills.
Tolbert has excellent twitch and suddenness off the line. He can stack crisp feet motions to earn early separation, employing short bursts of energy in rapid succession.
Routes & Separation – Uses outstanding suddenness and sharpness to his route breaks. He has very good speed to not only maintain separation but gain separation after the break. Tolbert runs routes with precision and quickness.
Yeah, I remember scouting reports saying he was pro ready. Not sure where people got that Tolbert cant get separation.

Sorry, I still have some concerns for the reasons I’ve already provided . We shall see.

And I bet most have more than Zero concerns.

He had damn good separation on Sundays... he was nowhere near a uniform each week.

He couldn't separate in college. I never could understand the draft ranking of this guy. Bringing him in is a waste of time. Why bother spending time confirming what should already be known?
Given that he played at a small school, online game cutups being gone now the Bannon case is settled, and his athletic metrics, it seems more likely you never watched him play in college.
