Underappreciated Ronald Jones?

I'm guilty........
Underappreciated would imply that we should appreciate him more.

I appreciate him as a journeyman player who might be ok as the primary backup to Pollard.
Might be.
I don't think we should stand pat on that "might be", and should bring in another similar or better player as competition for that role.

And I don't think he should be appreciated *more* than that.

I'm guilty........

His Youtube highlights

Gotta love when someone posts highlight videos of a player to convince everyone they are wrong about him.

Jones couldn’t beat out CEH and couldn’t crack the KC active roster. He’s slow to boot. Anyone who thinks Zeke was slow is going to be losing it when this guy gets to the second level. If he does.

Put it this way. If pollard goes down. We’re in big trouble. But fans here think we’re good at RB because they are just as short sighted as the FO. Same FO who rushed Gallup back and thought he’d be fine, same FO who planned on Tyron starting all year lol. This team is reactive, never proactive. Better pray pollard stays healthy.

You sure got that right, and they are doing it again this year - saying it is going to be a run heavy offense and then banking on Pollard to be 100% by start of the season. Also banking on Tyron again this year and Steele, who was a great run blocker last year at RT, to be 100% as well. Thats the NO.1 RB and 2/5 of the starting OL that we are hoping will be healthy and 100% all year.
Bringing Jones in reminds me of how the FO tried to solve the WR issue last offseason - by signing Washington. Im like you, the Jones acquisition didn't do anything for me either- very worried about the RB position too

Don’t let certain members here see that. You’ll be labeled a troll for being concerned about the RB position.

I'm kind of interested in James Robinson, since he was released. He may be done though, after the Achilles tear.

Rojo had a ton of potential only a couple seasons ago. In the right fit he could do really well for us. My only issue is not having someone better established behind a runner who's never been asked to be a full time starter.

Robinson is done. On March 17, 2023, Robinson signed a two-year, $8 million contract with the New England Patriots. However, on June 12, Robinson was released by the Patriots. Tells me all I need to know.

If you are referring to Pollard being a full time starter, he will get the most carries but I'm not sure you will be able to call him full time. It's RBBC this year.

Jones got down field pretty quick. Seen Brady running to congratulate him. It looked like it could have taken him 4 times as long. :muttley:

That a shame, he was just getting started.

Yeah I think the committee will depend on what the others bring. The idea is to keep Pollard fresh, but we will need other rbs to produce.

Maybe Pollard should keep Jones fresh. :muttley::popcorn:

I've been waiting on a Ronald Jones thread because I don't know much about him. Looks like he can catch, but his highlights aren't very long.

I don;t think he cares how much anyone appreciates him. Just sign the checks please.
