Underappreciated Ronald Jones?

Ronald Jones does nothing to move the needle for me.

I'd much rather roll with Pollard, Davis and Deuce as the TB's and hopefully Hunter is kept on the 53 at FB for short-yardage and blocking purposes.

Worse case, keep Dowdle too for special teams.

Unless they add Dalvin (which ain't happening) I am totally ambivalent about Jones being on this team, can't see how he helps much.

I’m looking forward to seeing what he can do here. The competition at RB should be a good one!

After pollard we got they Aite…. Need to pick up a better option . Hunt cook Robinson.

Rojo's highlites are from a few years back. Other than having a vet experience, I'm not that excited about the signing.

Even so, I'm not that concerned about the RB group. If the Oline can get right, they don't have to be Barry or Emmitt.

Plus, I think Davis will ultimately be the primary guy splitting time with TP.

PS - I was always a Zeke supporter ... but I'll vomit a little if they bring him back. Time to move on.

Jones has done more than Davis ever has and people are still just handing the job to Davis without watching a down of football? LOL should certainly be interesting.

The Jones signing was fine for what it was- a proven veteran that the team can trust. Nothing more, nothing less.

They could have drafted a real threat in the draft. An heir apparent. Opportunity missed.

He’s only going to look good because he’ll probably provide the same production and role as Zeke at 1/100th the price tag. That doesn’t make it a great pick up, just that the Boys hung on to Zeke for too long. If we could get him without the 30 year old giant RB contract, would still love Derrick Henry the most as our 3rd back with Pollard and Mini Me.

But Davis is young and looked good in his limited opportunities last year.

Jones is on the same declining path as Zeke.

Same here......but the more I read the more I'm thinking he could actually be the perfect backup, key word backup.

His issues are poor pass blocking and minor fumbling issues.

This puts a lot on Pollard as your #1 and pass protecting back. If you want to keep Pollard healthy you don’t want him blocking much.

I like this signing. Just saying my two cents why people are down on him.

You seriously think that Derrick Henry is a RB3 anywhere in this league?!?!?

Jones will be we 26 in August with nothing even close to the wear and tear of Elliott.

He was also never the talent that Zeke was either though. He couldn't win a role in KC last year.

I mean I just don't see any reason to expect him to be more than serviceable.

RB3? LOL

Is that a Madden Term?

I meant a trio of those three players all sharing time.

Not sure how you interpreted that as Henry with the least playing time.

Not a missed opportunity at all. You think they needed to draft a RB early is why you are calling it that. The Cowboys very clearly feel differently about that position. They valued the trenches and Schoon's receiving more.

You said “would still love Derrick Henry the most as our 3rd back with Pollard and Mini Me.” The way that is written is he is would be our 3rd back. My apologies for reading it different than intended

Using a late 6th round pick on a gadget back is essentially not drafting one at all- at least not one who has the potential to step into Pollard's role. Given the loss of Elliott and Pollard's injury, that leaves them thin at RB, especially for a coach that says he wants to run more.

I'm all for the "trenches". In fact, I've criticized the team for not prioritizing the OL more in the draft. As for Schoon? We'll see how much of an upgrade he is over Schultz this season. My guess is not much.
