Be nice ........LOL

Seriously, I can see him having a career year with fewer career stats and Jerry paying him top 3 $$$$$. In other words, ALL ducks are lined up for this to be a huge year for him.

Why Cowboys QB Dak Prescott winning league MVP isn’t so far-fetched

What exactly would a Dak Prescott candidacy for NFL MVP look like?

I can feel the question sparking a social media meltdown already, but I'll press on. After all, it's mid-June and this is the time for idle speculation. The topic is in the news cycle already, as NFL.com's Adam Schein listed Prescott as a top dark horse candidate to win this year's award.

Prescott has the benefit of being the starting quarterback for the one team that's guaranteed to be in the headlines regardless of its record. But, as evidenced by the past 30 years, that's not enough on its own. Emmitt Smith is the only Cowboy to win the AP's NFL MVP, all the way back in 1993 when the team's '90s dynasty was at its peak.

What would it take for Dak to buck that trend? Honestly, not all that much more than we've already seen from him.

Things will have to really go right for Dak but if the line gives him great protection and the running game is effective, he’s proven he can play at an MVP level. He just hasn’t been able to be consistent over an entire season.

I'm not a big Dak guy but some of you all refer to him like he's Mark Sanchez or something. Dude is seriously not that bad.
Exactly lol. Any top 12 QB can win MVP if his team wins 12+ games and he has a career year. For examples, Matt Ryan and Lamar Jackson.

If Dak throws for 4500+, we win 12-13 games, and get the 1 seed he’s going to be a top 3 MVP candidate. QB’s for the top teams are locks for top candidacy. He’s done all 3 of these things before, just needs to do them all at once and he’ll be right in the top considerations.

I have a better chance of being attacked by a shark in my pool. His chance of winning in less than 1%....and I ONLY say 1% because the voting would be taking place prior to another playoff failure.
I agree. But if Jalen Hurts could be right there for MVP, that means anything is possible. Because I think Justin Fields or Daniel Jones have the legs to do exactly what Hurts does on the Eagles. They just don't have the supporting cast.

League MVP typically does go to a quarterback.

But not this one. He would have to totally ball out.

You can have a really good year and not win MVP. On the other hand, sometimes things just line up.

If folks want to make wagers that he will win the MVP, I could be convinced to take your cash. Um, I mean, take the opposite position purely to placate a fellow fan.

Helman - what a goober. Imagine having a job where you have to say & write stuff you know is ludicrous just to get a reaction. Why not just go into comedy?

I mean, he could be in the conversation but there is a tier of better QBs above him that would have to do poorly for him to get serious consideration.
Not a knock or hating, just that he has an uphill battle for MVP.

He will win the SB and then the MVP. Now, what did I do with my weed?

Lol, I agree, but I can see him possibly the Qb with the best stats in the NFC if Hurts goes down.

I know that’s not saying much but I really only care about his improvement in being consistent and peaking in the playoffs…….if possible
