Be nice ........LOL

Seriously, I can see him having a career year with fewer career stats and Jerry paying him top 3 $$$$$. In other words, ALL ducks are lined up for this to be a huge year for him.

Why Cowboys QB Dak Prescott winning league MVP isn’t so far-fetched

Published Jun. 22, 2023 1:43 p.m. ET
What exactly would a Dak Prescott candidacy for NFL MVP look like?

I can feel the question sparking a social media meltdown already, but I'll press on. After all, it's mid-June and this is the time for idle speculation. The topic is in the news cycle already, as NFL.com's Adam Schein listed Prescott as a top dark horse candidate to win this year's award.

Prescott has the benefit of being the starting quarterback for the one team that's guaranteed to be in the headlines regardless of its record. But, as evidenced by the past 30 years, that's not enough on its own. Emmitt Smith is the only Cowboy to win the AP's NFL MVP, all the way back in 1993 when the team's '90s dynasty was at its peak.

What would it take for Dak to buck that trend? Honestly, not all that much more than we've already seen from him.

Ironic thing about Dak winning MVP is that it would be ONE guy getting the credit for big team success.

Probably one of the lamest awards there is. Its basically a QB award for the team that wins the most games. Or close to it.

Things will have to really go right for Dak but if the line gives him great protection and the running game is effective, he’s proven he can play at an MVP level. He just hasn’t been able to be consistent over an entire season.
You mean the line hasnt been able to be consistent over an entire season?

So you have already decided how our season will end? Guess you moved on to 2024 huh
Listen to these laughable cry babies. LOL

"Another playoff failure"

Just a few years ago those trolls were crying about how bad Dak sucked that he couldn't win games. Now were winning 12 games a year and they are crying about not making it to the SB.

But, but, but, I know you have me on ignore, but you said it's not the job for a QB to win games? So, if I understand, Dak was on the team, but he was not supposed to win those games?

Does your driveway reach the street?

I really wish they would sign Zeke.

I'll account bet any of the Dak fans here that Dak will not win an MVP ever.

Come on. Somebody show us you really believe in this bum and get behind your man.

Any takers?
I will do the same. If Dak Prescott wins league MVP then I will never post on here ever again.

Also Dave Helman should be called Dave Helmet. Far more fitting. Never known anyone in the media to be so obsessed with Dak Prescott. He must have a shrine of him in his room

At least @Swagger a real one. He not trying to account bet no one. If Dak wins MVP he just gonna lose his account. Why don’t you do the same? If he wins MVP you just give up your account….

Here we go with statistics. Statistics are for the end of your career when you look back and see team statistics. That’s what wins a championship. Especially when there’s more points. LMAO.

In 2014 Demarco Murray set the new Cowboys single season rushing record.

Not unrelated, it was also the only season that Tony Romo was the #1 ranked QB in the league. It was the season in which Tony threw the fewest passes while playing a full season of 14 or more games.

Dak is 27-1 in games with 28 or less passing attempts for a 96.4% win rate. For all QB's in the past 10 years with 10 games of 28 or less passes, Dak is ranked #1 in winning percentage. McCarthy knows this which is why he stated that he wanted to run the ball more. It's pretty simple, the more the Cowboys run, the less Dak passes. The less Dak passes, the more they win.

This is not an indictment of Dak's abilities as a QB. The simple fact is that Dak has many great attributes as an NFL QB, enough to qualify him as one of the best. However, all QB's have differences in some respects and Dak is not one of those naturally gifted, strong armed blue chippers that get taken in the top of the 1st round.

Dak can be extremely successful when used the right way. If Garrett or Moore wanted a prolific Coryell type passing game then they chose the wrong quarterback, that just isn't Dak. However, if the Cowboys want a strong running game complemented by an opportunistic passing game with the leadership of a QB that protects the ball and keeps drives alive then Dak is their man.

Ironically, Dak could be the league MVP if the Cowboys are a balanced offense with a strong running attack.

Of course, that begs the question, why wouldn't Pollard be the MVP then? Well, when you look at the last 20 league MVP's, 18 of them have been QB's. It's a simple NFL reality that QB's get the love, especially in today's game.

If anyone thinks Dak and Romo are on a comparable level, then no, it isn't far-fetched. Romo should have won it in 2014 and came close.

Yes, it is.
It’s not that far fetched, considering he was having an MVP year in 2020 when he injured his ankle. He’s capable of playing great games we’ve seen it. He just needs to get his consistency back. This is going to be an important year for him with only one year remaining on his contract after this season.

First off, they will never honor it. Their word is garbage. They cant even admit they were wrong about Dak from the beginning. What makes you think they will actually never post again?

Their next cry baby rant if he wins the MVP will be........................"Means nothing if we dont win the SB".

Why do you bother arguing with trolls? These are the same clowns that said:

-Dak is backup material
-Dak is a bus driver
-Dak cant throw for 300 yards
-Dak cant throw for 400 yards
-Dak cant throw the deep ball

ect....ect...........................and were dead wrong about all of it.
