I have been around the young man at Southern Miss and he has impressed me with how he is with other people and his demeanor. He’s a quality person, and he is a good athlete. It will surprise me if he doesn’t start out very well in Dallas.

Cooks is a veteran and does not waste movement or telegraph movement like Gallup and Lamb. Letting Cooper go still haunts. Everyone better pray Brandin Cooks plays all season.

If he really means it, he has to at least become someone that isn't afraid to make a tackle. He doesn't have to be great or a huge hitter. Just someone that will make an attempt.

I don’t know why people are coming that hard on him. He tackles fine. People are quick to forget how his tackle allowed us to beat the Bengals.

My immediate thoughts


• Concerned about the Donovan Wilson injury
• Dak Prescott looked sharp
•The Cowboys starting WR core is 100x better than they were this time last year
• Good to see TJ Bass and others getting work at RG for the absent Zack Martin
• Mazi Smith is HUGE and EXPLOSIVE
• The battle for WR4 & WR5 is going to be tight
• Jake Ferguson might separate himself early as the clear TE1
• Stephen Gilmore is a breathe of fresh air at CB2 opposite Diggs
• Deuce Vaughn is electric
